AUDEZE iSINE 10 In-Ear Planar Magnetic Headphones : Great sound, but minimal and poorly chosen/designed package and accessories.

They don’t sound like iem’s as such but more like full size open planar’s. It is premium product not sound and build wise. It has a large expansive soundstage with clarity and musicality. The sound is tight across bass, midrange and highs. I can’t really criticise it sound wise. If you can get the cipher cable it is astounding and has been tuned really well by the guys at audeze. My only caveat is if you can try them before you buy because the fit is different to anything most will have tried.

I was looking for a headphone/earphone that would connect directly to my iphone and there weren’t many available on the market, i could only find the audeze ones and phillips ones. I was first considering getting the sine, but the isine looked like a completely different concept so thought i’d try these instead. The packaging, and box was very nice, with a small carry case to protect the earphones during transport, not sure i’ll have much use for this as i don’t do much traveling. When i first got them out the foam insert i was underwhelmed with the plastic housing which felt a bit cheap, but then i started reading some other reviews online and apparently it’s all for weight saving. The earphones themselves seem sturdy enough (i just hope i don’t sit on them) and they break, i guess i’ll have to be extra careful. When in the ear they’re very light, the lightning cable adds weight to the cable so i found using the provided clip perfect for addressing this. Sound – i don’t have a lot of experience with high end audio products, i just use my phone to play music, but after plugging these in with the lightning cable i was blown away by the sound… it was so airy and natural i couldn’t believe the sound was actually coming from inside the earphones. I’ve also tested them for film/video on my phone and they perform outstandingly. There’s also a little audeze app which allows you to eq the sound, but i’ve left everything as suppled. Tried it with the standard cable via my phone and there’s a huge improvement with the lightning cable.

I wouldn’t consider myself an audiophile, more like an audio enthusiast. To get an idea of what i’m comparing these to i currently own a pair of shure se846’s, audeze sine closed back headphones (which prompted me to get a pair of these) among a few lower end earphones and headphones such as the rockjaw alfa genus v2 and akg n60’s. I listen to tidal usually through my laptop and a dragonfly red dac but have found the cipher cable through my iphone even trumps this set up. I have listened to sennheiser ie 800’s in the past and have upgraded the cables on my shure se846’s but nothing even comes close to these. If you get these with the cipher cable variant the options for the sound are pretty much limitless. I kept the first eq at standard settings while tweaking the other to my liking and the difference is night and day, even before i tweaked the setting i thought these sounded other worldly. Genuinely getting goosebumps as i write this as i put a random playlist on tidal and adele comes on. I had my reservations about these after hearing how good the sine on ears are from audeze but these are another step up. Bass is clear, present and deep and impactful while not interfering at all with the vocals. It’s truly magical, i don’t know how they have managed this from such a small form factor and for the price.

I bought these earphones having already been a fan of the audeze range after listening to the lcd-3’s for the last year. The first thing i can say about these headphones is that they are outstanding. I was looking for something i could listen to via my iphone rather than a headphone amp/dac. You get the same open feel that you have with all audeze headphones and also a brilliant soundstage. Don’t be fooled by the size/look they feel very light once on your head and the little clips mean they are supported and feel comfortable to wear for hours.

Plus side :- excellent sound, clear, detailed, great precise bass and good sound stage. – decent fit and comfort (for me at least)- well worth the price, you definitely won’t find anything better at this price point or under. – open back that don’t leak sound in any significant way = nearly a dream come true. Minus :- the two provided ear-hooks are exactly the same except for color, and i couldn’t get the special ‘ear-holders’ to work, they should just drop those fiddly things and provide different shaped/sized ear-hooks. – not a large selection of ear-tips, enough for me to find a good fit, but at this price you could expect a whole range of at least 6 different pairs of ear-tips, with different sizes/materials. – iphone only special cable is of course frustrating, but they could of at least included a one-button control on the standard ‘android’ cable as one of the advantages of these is that when you pause your music you can hear everything just fine. – the carrying case holds the ear-phones and cable and nothing else, you have to take whatever ear-hook you’re using off and kind of stuff it in with them, a stupid oversight in my opinion. Basically the sound is great but the package and fit/comfort is disappointing given the price point. That being said, i use these all the time at work and sometimes at home because of they are open-back that don’t leak sound, so you’re getting that nice airy sound-stage while not bothering anyone and if you pause your music you can suddenly hear perfectly everything around you.

Went ahead and purchased these on the recommendation of a friend who’s a headphone nut. I was really put off by the looks (makes me look like i’ve just been attacked by spiderman), but he said i wouldn’t be disappointed with the sound – he wasn’t wrongwhen i took them out of the box, i was quite shocked at how light they were in comparison to their large size.   i’m new to high-end earphones, i don’t usually spend more than £100 on any headphone/earphone but i’m so glad i’ve pulled the trigger on these. The sound is in a different league to anything i’ve heard before…  i’m no audiophile, but for me the bass is what stands out most, very clean and refined with no distortion. I know these use completely different tech from what’s in all other earphones and you can clearly hear that from the very first listen.  the fit can take some getting used to, but once you find the right earloop or ring thing that fits you then it’s plain sailing. I prefer the ear hooks for long term listening and comfort.   i think i’ll look to update my player as i’m just using my phone at the moment. , or maybe get an iphone so i can use the other cable, i’ll try this out on my friends iphone tomorrow at uni to see if there’s any improvement on sound (not sure how as these already sound incredible).  happy to overlook the bizarre looks as they sound phenomenal compared to anything i’ve heard before.

These sound absolutely amazing with the right source. Yes, it’s a love it or hate it kind of design but the isine 20s are very hard to beat by sub-£1000 iems. The cipher cable for ios gave a pretty good boost to my iphone’s sound as well.

I’ve been a massive fan of audeze for years since purchasing the lcd2. When i heard they were going to be releasing in ears i was very excited. I have been using the isine 20 for a couple of weeks now and i have not been disappointed. The sound is very open, detailed and the bass reproduction is the best i’ve heard for an in ear headphone. Even though they are quite big they are very comfortable and haven’t fallen out of my ears yet. I tend to use these whilst travelling or at work where my bigger lcd2s wouldn’t be appropriate and i can listen to my music with the classic audeze sound and zone out, ignore my colleagues or phone and get on with my work :-).

They have this kind of arrogance to them. You play a song, you trust that nothing will be out of place. It’s all there, it’s all represented. Whenever i find a new multi layered track, it gets put to these. These are the ringer, i test every song and every new headphone against these and while some may sound more dynamic or exciting they just don’t ever beat these. My only reason for a four star review is comfort wise i found the ear clips can pinch slightly after extensive use. I start off not even aware i have them in, but eventually it can get distracting.

Absolutely excellent sound quality. You don’t quite believe you are wearing earphones rather than headphones due to such a wide soundstage. Works best on iphone in my opinion, even with my schiit bifrost dac and beyerdynamic a20 it doesn’t sound quite as refined as the in built dac. You may want to adjust the eq settings a bit for a higher low mid and bass and also some more treble to really improve it.

Great headphones if they are uncomfortable use the bioears silicone plugs and form with your fingers the perfect seal. Every time you take them off or on you can reshape the silicone.

I currently own a pair of audio technical ath m50’s and sennheiser hd700’s headphones and i decided to take the plunge and get these isine 10 headphones. The first thing that struck me was when i listened to the audio how open and spacious the sound is between each instrument, i really appreciate it as the m50’s didn’t give that sense of spaciousness between the instruments, they are extremely clear. Sound really really great for their size nice and clear and loud with no distirtion, happy i got them now, very airy and open sound too, spacious between the instruments not all muddles together and cleartheir not bass heavy, nor do they sound neutral, they provide a full rich sound and super clear music without being piercing and creating hearing fatigue like my hd700s doi am only comparing the m50’s to the isine 10’s because a lot of people have the m50’s not that they’re in the same price level or category of headphonesupdate: i have been listening to these iem for the last few days and as i am walking nosw i am so happy i bought these, none of my other headphones can pull as much detail from songs like these can and their portability is extremely convenient. I was substituting bass for real clarity with the ath m50s and i didnt realise it. I feel as they do lift the cover off the songs i listen to. Drums sounds extremely realistic with their thuds, claps sounds like claps for example in queens we will rock you compared to lesser headphones which they do not and sound like general noises and that spacious soundstage all come together to create a listeners dream. It is magnificient with audeze did, i can only imagine what these sound like hooked up to a chord mojo because they sound incredible coming straight from my galaxy s5. I would defineltely recommend these. In my experience the sound leakage is very minimal and is difficult for others to hear what you are listening to, especially on a bus, i find it to be an advantage as people can talk to me with them on me, without taking them off. I would definetely recommend the isine 10s, could only imagine what the 20s are like.

Tested these v my shure 425’s and there is no comparison. The audeze have a depth and soundscape that really engages from pop to jazz to metal and opera. Through my chord mojo they sound even better. Note the cipher lead is not included in this particular package and will buy when available in the uk or direct from the us to try their dac via mobile and hi res performance. Overall comfort is not 100% for listening for long periods, but happy to sacrifice that for the gorgeous hi end sound.

Dear reader,i bought these from hifiheadphones and not from amazon nor do i work for audeze and i paid money for the phones. I have been listening to these for a couple of months now and i’m stunned by the articulate, cohesive sound signature. This is my first time into audeze land and i have wandered through the meadows and green pastures with a smile on my face. The game of buying headphones and the audio business throwing out more ‘hi end’ headphones for us aficionados to nibble and fret on is over. This is a law of diminishing returns. More and better, more and better, when will i stop?. But with the audeze isine 20 is the end of the search for the holy grail of audio over?the sounds from these bronze beauties (in the eye of the beholder, right?) are versatile and bold. It’s a v shaped signature veering to the warm. The base is tight and controlled and the treble is slightly recessed but still has a sparkle.

So i based my purchase on a recent review by the verge, tried to order on amazon but they were sold out so i found one dealer who had a last pair in stock…apparently audeze can’t keep up with demand and make these quick enough, after listening i can understand whyyes they’re expensive, but in all my years of listening to earphones (and i’ve tried/owned quite a few, all the way up to the se846s) i have never experienced sound like this from a an earphone. It sounds like a speaker or an open back headphone. The dynamic range is amazing with the bass going so deep and no overemphasis on the mid or high frequencies which are so precise and accurate. Currently being used out of my ak70 music player which drives them with plenty of power to spare. I’m not an iphone user so have no use for the lightning cable but couldn’t find the std cable version in stock anywhere so for the sake of £50 i just bought the lightning version. Hopefully one day audeze will make a usb c cable for android devices. In short these are by far the best earphones i have ever heard with a soundstage like no other. The only downside is that they’re semi open back, so if you’re looking for total isolation like a shure earphone etc. , i’d look elsewhere…if you want something for the office/home or when walking the dog these are perfect. They’re surprisingly light for their size and do not need to go deep in to the ear to get full appreciation of the sound so they don’t give any earache like some other in-ears.

There is no in-ear headphone in the world like these. I was sceptical to begin with, as they’re not the cheapest headphones to buy. Having used them for a few days, i have no regrets. Great sound for a variety of genres, and so comfortable.

Audeze iSINE 10 In-Ear Planar Magnetic Headphones

I bought these headphones on a whim because i loved the look of them (contrary to everyone i’ve shown so far), and also because i just purchased an iphone 7 and didn’t want to use the silly adapter for 3. I’m please it came with a carry case – i’ve experimented with the various tips but as the part which goes in your ear is quite big i’ve stuck with the smallest of the ones provided. I wasn’t expecting much with regards to sound quality as i’ve never heard of this brand before. I plugged it into my old mp3 player – omg they sounded insane…i then tried them with the lightning adapter cable via my iphone and my jaw just dropped. I have never heard anything like this, the sound was so lifelike and expansive, it was almost like it’s coming from outside of your head – like you’re not even listening to earphones. I then googled audeze and realised these guys make 4k headphones. No wonder these sound amazing, i can only imagine what the 4k ones sound like. All in all, i couldn’t be happier with these, i’m hearing things in my music i’ve never done so before. Just listening to lionel richie “dancing on the ceiling” and the footsteps at the beginning of the track … i thought someone was walking towards mequite a strange experience in that i can hear everything going on around me, in some ways this is good as i’m aware of my surroundings and i won’t get so easily run over when walking to worki find it amazing also when reading the box that these are made in america?.

If you’re wondering if they’re better than the 10s, they are. Better sound stage and separation, better sparkle up high and better extending and controlled bass. All the good written about the isines is true for me. Sound will vary largely when using analog cables vs the lightning. I can only comment on them via lightning of apple products and my comment is they’re phenomenal.
