Last weekend I attended my first ever blogger event and I’m hooked on the concept from here forward. The moment I received the invite through the post, I jumped for joy! The lovely Katie from Curvaceous Beauty organised the entire blogger event and she did a fantastic job. The venue, organisation, refreshments, brands and guest-speaker were all on point! Let’s not forget the goody bag, oh my.
Georgina from She Might Be Loved gave a talk on ‘How to be a successful blogger’ and her advice was great. Although I work within the web marketing industry and was relatively aware of everything that was said, it was interesting to know how other bloggers go about using certain marketing tools which I use day in, day out for myself and clients. I’ve always assumed that I go about my blogging schedule and social media in a pretty standard way. However, once you hear about how often others post and what tools they use and why, you begin to realise you’ve built your very own little ‘blogging bubble’ – and it’s a good thing!
I met a couple of the girls at the station to head down together. For the majority of us it was our first event and the idea of walking into a room of strangers alone, was nerve-racking. Divya from What Divya Thinks, Holly at Empfire, Sam from Coco Butter Blog and Emma at The Cheshire Wife were a few of the girls I met and it was lovely getting to know them a little more in person rather than behind my computer screen!
The blogger event was held at The Button Boutique in Liverpool, which is any crafty-person, instagrammer or quirky enthusiasts’ dream! We were presented with a display of cakes and vintage teacups and saucers the moment we arrived, which everyone took the chance of instagramming – as you do. The brands Stella & Dot and Tropic had ambassadors visit, with a display of goodies we could try out and browse through. I will be doing further posts on these and the contents of the goody bags, as it’ll take up your entire day reading this post otherwise!
