Bose QuietComfort 3 Noise-Cancelling Headphones and : Good but not without faults

I had been looking for these headphones at a reasonable cost and found it. I think the only downside to these headphones is i keep on leaving the power on (noise canceling). However it takes a good 24 hours to run the power down, but then i go to use the headphones and the power has gone. I won’t even knock that as the sound quality is the best i have ever known. I have used many types of headphones in the past, but i’ve always gone back to bose.

Good sound quality, comfortable and great noise-cancelling (including on one flight where a child two rows back screamed for the entire trip). I haven’t had any problems with battery life. The headphones have done four long haul flights and four short haul on one charge. It took me a while to decide to spend this much money on a set of headphones but i’m glad i did. I fly a lot and these are perfect for me.

Amazing really comfortable to wear with great audio playback.

Had hiccup when ordering “bose” headphones from amazon seller – not only were they fakes, they nearly burnt my house down. Put battery on to charge, whole thing shot out of the socket in a plume of stinking black smoke. Battery and charger were red hot and my electrics were knocked out. Got a refund from amazon and bought the real deal from john lewis – and they are totally awesome.Much better than my old bose and better than my rza’s. Well worth the expense in depth of sound alone.

Don’t block out all the noise unfortunately and there’s no way to adjust volume on the chord. They are comfortable though and the spare battery is really handy.

I am extremely hard of hearing, having to wear 2 hearing aids all the time, and find listening to music very difficult under normal circumstances. Using these headphones made the experience of listening to new cds a pleasure that i thought would not happen again to me. Brilliant piece of equipment.

This product is advertised for travelers and sold at a high price, so my expectations were high. I wasn’t disappointed and enjoyed these headphones especially for air travel – they served me well. It’s actually the second pair i own since 2010. But after a little more than two years, without particularly intensive usage, the left speaker is broken, and in these two years i have had to replace the headphone covers twice, and the jack cable once. Also compared to the initial product i had bought in 2010 some adaptors are not included anymore. I feel like bose failed on its promise to deliver a truly great quality – which is a pity. Why put outstanding technology inside of mediocre hardware?.

These headphones are great for chilling out at home or on a flight. They have great noise cancellation and are very comfortable. However, they are very loose and dont fit on your ears very tight which adds to the passive comfort. They will fall off your head if you walk even a few metres. I also have the beats solo and would recommend then over these for the same price.

Worked well on trip to australia.

Was recommended these by a friend. Went on holiday and could not believe how effective they were on the plane, in a coach, simply sitting by the pool. It is like having your own mobile studio, comfortable as well you can wear them for hours. Battery life is excellent & doesn’t take forever to recharge, these are much better than all the other brands i tried which is quite a few.

Having owned my qc3’s since 2009, i am overall very happy with them. The sound quality is sublime, having owned headphones from cambridge soundworks, sennheiser, beats by dr. Dre and b&o the sound quality and pitch range is much better with the qc3’s. The noise cancelling does well. It is not true noise cancelling like on the qc15’s, but it does say that on the box, “bose active nose cancelling”, this means that it removes lower and higher pitched noise levels from the surrounding environment, such as airplane engine noise and the humm of a diesel engine on a train. You will still here the noise of people next to you and zour surroundings but at a slightly more muted level. The qc3’s are lightweight and the on ear design is ver comfortable, especially on long haul journeys by whatever form of transportation. The li-ion battery system for powering them is convenient and tucked away in one of the ear pieces and easily replaceable. My only gripe being that after nearly 4 years the ear pads leather effect is starting to flake off, i have replaced these in the past and find it an annoyance that for such a high price they cannot get the ear pads right. Aside from my one little gripe i am very happy with them, and have been using them most days since i bought them back in 2009.

I debated long and hard about purchasing these headphones. I couldn’t rationale the price to myself ( or my partner. )and then i received a bonus for a job i had done. Greatthe headphones are superb. I would expect nothing less from this brand. Everything i have bought has been fantastic and these headphones are no exception. From the styling to the comfort factor and mainly to the sound these are just the business. You get the deep rich tones and superb bass sounds. I use them everyday and i am so pleased i splashed out on them. This is a serious purchase but i am sure it will pay dividends in the future.

Everything works perfectly, very comfortable to wear, but would not pay over £200 because the sound quality is notthe best for the price.

Exactly what you would expect with mid-to-upper priced headphones from bose. The build quality is superb, and they are fantastically comfortable due to the super-soft ear-pieces, and the sound quality is very difficult to fault for the price. Compared to other similarly priced items (beats for example) they are an excellent purchase.

I hope this review will help those debating between, or are confused over the difference between, a set of bose quietcomfort 15 or quietcomfort 3. I have used both now for at least two years each, am a frequent flyer on long haul flights and a bit of an audiophile (used to be a music journalist). First off, let me just say that both sets of headphones are the dog’s you-know-what. The tonal range is suitable for all types of music with bass audible but not over-bearing, treble clear but not piercing and tinny whilst the mid-range is very clear. So, the differences:size & comfort: i traded my qc15s in for a pair of qc3s initially purely because of the size of the former. Their large, over-the-ear design is perfect for what they set out to achieve (ie: noise cancellation) but the size can hinder comfort. The seals of the cans against the head were quite flush; the major downside of this being that one’s ears tend to get rather hot and sweaty after about an hour’s use. Not a disturbingly uncomfortable amount, but certainly noticeably so. With the qc3s this is not a problem due to being merely on-the-ear.

I have wanted some of these for a couple of years and finally bought myself a pair. I have tried more reasonably priced sets but as with so much in life you get what you pay for and yes they are expensive and really very good. I fly frequently and would not travel without these and they have made long haul a lot more bearable.

Bose QuietComfort 3 Noise-Cancelling Headphones Black and Silver

I seem to spend too much of my life in airports and on planes. My bose quietcomfort 3 headphones are a lifesaver. Screaming children disappear. I find them very comfortable; enough so to wear for hours. I have, on occasion, simply put the headphones on and turned them on. With no audio source; just peace and quiet.

So comfortable, almost completely noise cancelling. You have to remember to charge the battery, but the quality of the sound and the feel of the material is outstanding, especially at the price i paid for them.

These are a huge step up from my previous and much cheaper noise cancelling headset. Great comfort, better audio quality – but surprisingly, not that big a step out at excluding background noise when flying. They do a very good job at that, but only a little better than my previous and much cheaper headset, which is one reason why the bose set only gets a 4 rather than 5 star rating. The other is that the travel case for them does not easily take power adapters – rather an omission given what you’re likely to need when travelling away from home and using the case.

I bought these headphones on impulse. I think had i thought it through i would never spend £300 on a pair of headphones. That said, i have never regretted buying them (despite the issues below) and they do sound truly excellent. They still surprise me even after 3 years of ownership. And they do genuinely reduce the level of outside noise. I have used them many times on flights and often wear them with the noise cancelling on even if i’m not listening to anything whilst flying. Three stars though instead of five because in the third year of ownership the soft plastic coating on both ear pads and the padded headband has started to flake off. This does not affect the sound at all, but it means that i have little black flakes on my head and face after i use them – which is really annoying. They have had an easy life (at £300 you tend to look after them) and other far cheaper headphones that i have bought have not had this type of problem after only 2. Bose customer service have explained that as i am out of the 2 year warranty period, they can replace the headphones with a new set for £119 (part of their after care service). This of course would be a great offer if they had some technical issue, but i cannot justify paying £119 when only the padding is flaking. I asked bose if i could buy new padding from them – no can do. So i’m going to take the £119 and buy some other headphones. This way i can acquire some decent headphones that hopefully will not cover me in plastic flakes and keep the bose too.

And you’ll have a much better idea what these headphones do. In fact although the cover of the manual calls them noise cancelling headphones, inside the manual it refers to noise reduction. Bose also seem to aim them at travellers and frequent flyers, in my opinion it would have been much better to call them commuter headphones. Noise cancellation/reduction: very good. I bought them because i walk to work every morning beside a busy road and the traffic noise was drowning out the sound of the quiet passages of music. These headphones make the cars sound like a gentle swoosh – the noise certainly isn’t cancelled but it increases listening pleasure immensely. Just don’t expect to be isolated in your own little sonic bubble. Sound quality: good, a jack of all trades. Some albums definitely sound better than others, but i think a lot of this is down to production and mixing. Prefer them to my son’s beats solo. Build quality: some reviews are critical but seem ok to me, but time i suppose will tell. I always put them in the case after use. Ear pieces: there are complaints that the ear pieces make your ears overly hot.

These make my long haul travels bearable. Top class quality item from well-know manufacturer. Great enjoyment for everyone using these discrete headphones.

I rspect bose from years of using their products but this. The noise cancelling actually works and the quality of the sound.

Great sound quality, comes with useful features and the noice cancelling quality is superb, they may be expensive but they are very good build quality.

My faithful companion for 4 years now, had to replace the cable after 3 years. Now the plastic is falling of the ‘leather’ parts and the noise canceling is not what it once was. But the sound is still brilliant, too bad they don’t make them anymore.

Bought these as a birthday gift for my sister who loves high quality products. The sound quality is crystal clear. The noise cancelling filters out even the lowest background sound to create listening heaven. The ear pieces are soft and light. These headphones are worth every penny.

People wishing to buy the bose quite comfort series of headphones with “active” noise cancelljng need to aware of the porpose of the headphone. It is intended mainly as a travel headphone, especially on the plane. The active noise cancelling does a good job of cancelling out engine rumbles, leaving on traces of high frequencies for the noise. This allows you to listen to music at a much quiter volume and still able to hear clearly, or even without any music playing to have a better sleep. Noise cancelling works best for constant low frequency drown rather than higher pitch changing sounds such as voices so you will hear travel announcements or alarms. However if you wishing to buying these for music listening in a quiter environment, for high quality performance than these wont be the headphone for you. The noise cancelling headphones colours the sound and often degrades the fidelity and sound quality. There is a slight hiss, but less than most anc headphones i have heard. Clarity is decent, soundstage is fairly small and the bass felt a bit bloated. Although the qc3 along with tye qc15 are 2 of the better anc headphones, but in term of pure audio performance it will not match up to studio grade and audiophile grade headphones where audio quality is the primary function.

It took me a little while to get used to the noise cancelling whilst flying as i hadn’t experienced this technology before however i won’t fly without them nowexpensive but build quality is really good and the battery life very impressive. It comes with two batteries and a handy charger that fits in a very neat carry case. You can also get iphone cables but obviously this is an extra cost.

This was a great buy, love them.

Great set of headphones, perhaps a little expensive, but a must on long haul flights or busy commuter trains. Battery lasts ages and gives you plenty of warning before going flat.

Been buying cheap pairs of headphones for years (£10-£50) and eventually bought these as people i know said they would change my life. So i bought these headphones and wow they were right, they are ace. Should have bought them years ago but they are not cheap and i was a non believer.

I took me about a year to decide to purchase these. There were so many alternatives i looked at such as products from audio technica, beats and parrot’s zik. However i decided to purchase these because i needed them primarily for travelling and didn’t want anything too bulky. The noise cancellation is awesome – almost like losing your hearing – but still able to hear if someone talks to you directly. It removes background ‘noise’. The sound quality is very good, but not amazing. They are a little heavy on low frequencies, with most tracks sounding a little boomy. This may be to some people’s taste – but considering these are primarily for travelling and noise cancellation they are fine for my purposes. Overall a great product, with excellent noise cancellation for the portability. Not audiophile sound quality, but you couldn’t expect that from an on-ear noise cancelling headphone anyway.

I’ve had these for nearly 4 years now, still amazing and the quality of the noise cancelling is simply great.

It is okay, and thanks for your hand-write card.
