My Favourite Ways to Have a Chilled Night In

Sometimes, or most times in my eyes, you just want a quiet night in without the need to leave the house. Don’t get me wrong, I love going out with friends and family for a meal, to the cinema, a weekend get-together and so on, but in all honesty, a night in is my kind of thing. Having said that, I want to share with you the ways I like to have a chilled night in; from the food to the activities, here’s what I get up to.

Cooking & eating. of course.
This is one of my all-time favourite ways to have a chilled night in with my boyfriend; making food together and sitting down to enjoy everything we made with TV on in the background. Food is our favourite thing (probably more than one another, not gonna lie) and the amount of fun we have in the kitchen alone just from making tacos, pizza and all sorts of other things from scratch, is great. Although half the time I can’t be bothered to cook, especially during the week when it’s just for myself, there’s something about cooking on the weekend with someone else that makes it so much more enjoyable!

Pamper session & a little me time.

When I have a spare 2-3 hours to myself one evening or on the weekend, a pamper session is always in order. During this time I’ll put a clay face mask (this one is the best) on for a good 20 minutes, jump in the shower and wash my hair, then wack on a layer of my Bondi Sands Gradual Tan, before sitting and doing a proper blowdry. None of this tip-the-head-upside-down-nonsense. I become a pro for the first time in weeks when it comes to my me time. I’ll always pop on some music, make a cuppa, paint my nails, and then just read a book or watch a movie. My favourite author is Karin Slaughter, but if I’m up for a film, then White Chicks is my go-to.Game of Thrones Monopoly

Boards games. It’s a must.

There’s something about playing board games that makes me chill out instantly. Even if it does mean putting up with my oh-so competitive boyfriend in the mean time. I spoke about a board game cafe I’ve visited in my Things to do in Nottingham post, so check it out if board games are your kind of thing too. Anyway, our latest obsession has been Game of Thrones (of course) since it’s come back every Monday evening on NOW TV! Which is why I got sooo excited when the Game of Thrones Monopoly* landed on my doorstep, with a huge thanks to the team over at Firebox. Monopoly is the classic board game that’ll destroy families in one move, but you’ve got to love it.

Game of Thrones MonopolyEverything is themed around the popular series, with my favourite player piece being the Dragon Egg. But you’ll also find the Iron Throne, Crown, White Walker and more. As for the ‘hotels’, these have even been transformed as the Castle Walls! Everything is so spot on, and I can’t get enough. Find the GoT Monopoly here, and other cool gifts for him, her, and just for yourself in general. Who needs an excuse?!
