GRAEF HP Classic Manual Slicer : Nice sharp blade and very easy to clean

Very satisfied with this slicer since i was looking for something solid and functional. I’m using it to cut parma ham and it does the job. The result is closer to a hand-cut, so don’t expect the same results you could have with an electric one. In my case i probably like it more.

Simple, effective mechanism. Much better than any of the electric slicers.

I agree with every review that has been given so far. I use it now for four months almost weekly, for cutting my homemade sourdough breads. It’s really an amazing great slicer.

Bought this specifically to slice biltong (south african dried meat) and it is perfect. Slices moist and soft or dry and hard and is very easy to use – you are never straining to cut. The attachments help you slice right to the end of the piece and the thickness of the slice is adjustable. The suction cups on the feet work very well to provide a safe and stable experience. The entire product is sturdy and solid, most importantly on the blade guide – there is no flex here at all so get consistent thickness cuts at all times.

I purchased an electric £50 slicer two weeks before giving up with it. I decided to give this hand operated slicer a go, what a difference, no more ripped fresh home made bread so much easier to control. Just goes to show you get what you pay for. ( my sister in law purchased this item on her prime account so this review will not show up as a confirmed purchase).

Very quick delivery, excellent item, slicing hams and roast beef thinly for sandwiches is now quick and easy, also handy for pizza topping too, was a bit lazy and sliced everything on it, mozzarella (firm from fridge best) tomatoe, pepperoni, chorizo, onion, peppers, also works well on bread. I have started to do a more cooked/cured meats, so the need was there for one, also my partner is not comfortable using knives, this makes it much easier. Cleaning is simple, as long as you are mindful that the blade is extremely sharp, and you make sure to clean the lower part of the blade housing which collects the small bits that don’t quite make it. Storage for me is going to be on some hanging/hook affair, so it’s not taking cupboard space up. Although this won’t be used every day, but at least once or twice a week, the outlay will soon be returned for me, due to more home cooked sandwich meats and home cured bacon. Bit long winded review, but hope it helps.

Fantastici admit, that i was a little hesitant about buying a non-powered slicer, but i am so glad i did. The convenience of being able to use it anywhere in the kitchen is great, plus of course the freedom to plunge it into hot soapy water to give it a good clean. Once i had figured out the correct way to turn the handle it was a breeze. (clock-wise as you look at the handle side). I am now purchasing whole gammon joints and slicing and freezing the ham and it is delicious. Much better than shop-bought sliced packets, and so much more economical that the slicer will pay for itself before longthe slicer is also great for bread, but be aware that the blade may be too short for very tall loaves. End result is amazingly thin slices of meat or bread or cheese, which makes your food go so much further. Cleaning the machine is easy. You will need to remove the central screw to remove the blade. After that it is simply a case of lifting the slider and hand guard off and plunging the whole thing into the sink.

I bought it to slice crusty home made bread, which tends to turn into lumpy doorstops when cut with a knife. For the price, i expected a basic and functional item, but it’s much better than that. The blade is serrated and very sharp, the gearing mechanism is smooth and it does it’s job very well. It stays stuck to the work top with suction feet. When i’m finished, it’s light enough to pick up and store in a cupboard.
