HyperX HX-HSCRS-GM/EM Cloud Revolver S Dolby Surround 7 : Not bad

Only 2 minor flaws from an otherwise 5star product. Hitting the metal frame makes a big buzzing sound and the virtual surround isnt the best at market. But the memory foam is amazing .It has a minimalistic design and the black color completely mutes it making it easily usable and not flashy in public. Used it on really long sessions, over 4hrs or so, good quality build and sound, amazing noise cancellation. Caution: dont use more than 70% of volume, you might not hear the doorbell and oven timer.

I bought these headphones during may and since then i can confidently say they are incredibly comfortable and have a great sound quality, also the microphone is working as it should. A few months after using them i noticed a small “spot” on the left side of the headphone and thought that it’s probably something from the headphones, stupidly enough i didn’t take a closer look to the other side to see if it has one as well and at the 7th of august 2018 i woke up and saw them in this state, the left one is almost completely ripped off and unfortunately i could not return them back because 30 days have past way since i bought them. I do believe it’s partially my fault for not looking closely, but also rather unlucky that i got delivered a pair that had an issue. If there is any chance for getting a refund or something similar i will really appreciate it. Overall like i said, in the beginning, the headphones are amazing, a friend of mine has the same pair, even longer than me and have not had this issue. For those who are thinking whether it’s worth getting these, after reading this comment. I will definitely say yes, but just in case watch out if there are any issues so you can return it in time, avoiding the problem that i currently have.

It’s extremely comfortable to wear. Love the braided cable & it’s length. I do however wish the ‘mic on/off’ switch was different, having it inverted would be better for a start. The mic is very flexible surprised so yet rigid in place, it’s easily removed/attached too and sufficient for my needs skype/gaming with regard noise/clarity. I’m not a fan of the metal coupling around the ears. Lose the style (adopt a more classy/classic/understated look) also if rubbed off ones shoulder, chair etc it can be quite jarring – this applies to the metal band too.

After owning these for almost 2 years here is my opinion vs the logitech g933. Sound quality: hyper x by far. Durability: hyperx (excluding the horrid ear pads). Directional sound: logitech. Overall i’d choose the hyper x over the logitech g933 so long as you get replacement ear pads every year or so.

Previously i was using razer kraken 7. 1 and they are 2x cheaper than revolver s, comfort, audio quality were much better on those, however i can say that revolver s really has nice build quality, looks nice. Too bad after using these every day for 8hours a session for 2 weeks i have to refund these and buy something else. Every 30mins i have to lift my headphones off, give some time for my ears to rest, because it gets quite hot, the headband can’t be set into a static position so after some time it just goes more and more down and starts to feel heavy on top of your ears. Pads are also not as big as i expected them to be, ears are constantly touching the inside of the headphones, and there is no additional padding, so it touches the plastic which really is uncomfortable, after some time even painful. I’d only recommend these if your head is huge, so the headband would extend the maximum length and not cause discomfort and at the same time you had small ears.

So to address some of the negative reviews, most are looking for a universal solution, such as music and portability. If you are looking for portability these are not for you. But if your after a top notch gaming headset this is terrific. I use these for console and the only downside is the lack of inline controller. Yet the plus points are this good spacial sound base, ideal for fps and a bass that is hefty but not overwhelming, for games such as the division where using the mic this does the job perfectly. The mic is detectable and my teammates could hear me clearly, so no issues there. One last point these are going to be only useful for adults in that it is a big headset and my 13year old can’t wear them as these are made for the adult market i suspect.

These are good but not brilliant, the sound quality isn’t exquisite for something that costs ~£131, the problem is there is a loss of quality and sharpness when the volume is set to low and mid range on both the pc and through the soundcard (e. G the kawaap of an explosion). Setting the volume to max on the soundcard and leaving it at low to medium on the pc helps with this issue.

So as context, i owned the astro a50 gen 3’s, these are imo the best wireless headphones, they’re also very highly priced. I wanted to move to wired as after long periods of gaming my astros would need a charge. I happened to stumble on to a review of these headphones on youtube and they really got me thinking, so i decided to try them out. After a few hours i realised they’re as good as my astros but more than half the pricepro’s -well builtlightweightinline dacbraided, long cableeasy to use dacno software neededcomfortable for larger headsgreat noise cancellationlook smartworks on many devicesmic sounds amazinggame/music quality is amazingcons -dolby isn’t great, fine on sp games, not so good for mp games. I can’t really think of any other consafter well over a month of use i’m still telling all my friends how good these are and i sold my astros. I think that speaks volumes.

Good set of headphones, can’t speak to their reliability yet, but i’ve had a couple of hyperx headsets and never had a problem. Build quality is good, as other people have said the metal band makes a loud noise if you hit it, but i use the headset at a desk and the band isn’t an issue whatsoever. They are very comfortable and the sound quality is good.

After over two weeks of reading many reviews, i finally settled on buying the revolver s, given it’s great reviews. Pleased about my decision i eagerly awaited the headphones. First impressions were very good. The box they come in showed great presentation, and you immediately get the feeling this is a quality product. Likewise, the build quality of the headset is superb. The materials used feel great. The first problem occurred when putting the headset on… they are way too big. There is a gap between my head and the band, which means the headset does not sit well on my head… i can either have the gap between my head and the band and thus a wobbly headset, or i can have the ear pads half way down my ears. 7, quite stocky, and never considered myself to half a small head.

At first i was looking for a good set of headphones, and hyperx makes some nice headsets but after listen to it wow very nice hyperx cloud revolver the bass and the sounds are nice also the 7. 1 when i watch movies, & playing pc games. What more can i say that is already been said on the product.

The audio is much better than the original hyper x cloud gaming headphones. I like the design of the headphones in general and the build feels very solid. It does try to make up for the sub-par sound stage with extra bass. My biggest disappointment was that the surround sound does not really meet the expectations i had for the hyperx cloud revolver s. Don’t expect to put these on and experience something similar to an actual 5. In fact, it is not really even close.

Background: i’ve been using headsets for over 10years for playing pc games, listening to music & media consumption. Initially i used a turtlebeach wired set, then corsair wired, then corsair wireless. Review: this headset easily defeats those mentioned above. All had their plastic ear-hinge crack & shatter after extended use, hence the move to these metal-cup elastic style. Surprisingly these also have a much better seal around my ears than them, resulting in much less sound-bleed & a better overall experience. Cable is unnecessarily long, so i just left it tied up as it came.

I’ve tried a lot of headphone over the years, from budget skullcandy to £500 oppo pm-2’s. These hyperx gaming headphones are really very good for the price. Usually, ‘gaming headsets’ are pretty awful; cheaply made and suffer questionable sound quality and then hugely overpriced just because the6 have a microphone attached and are now called ‘gaming’ headsets. Hyperx have always been somewhat of an exception to this. Most have great sound, and all feel solidly built. The cloud revolvers definately have the most punch in the bass out of all hyper cloud headsets, but they’re not overbearing or muddy like most turtlebeach products. They are even good for listening to music, something you can’t really do with most gaming headsets. A big bonus is that these are also very comfortable (probably one of the most comfortable headphones i own) and their lightness make them very easy to wear for long gaming sessions. The reason i have marked them 4 instead of full 5 stars (which they really do deserve) is that my pair have recently had a bit of an issue. Last night when taking them off, a sizeable chunk of plastic from the left ear cup just crumbled into my hand without warning.

These are large, comfortable headphones. The build quality is superb and apart from a weird tinny ‘twang’ when i knock the metal headband they are pretty much perfect. Where i really appreciate them is when i’m gaming, the sound stage is fantastic and i pick up so much more detail and audio clues. I just don’t want to play games without them on now. I heartily recommend these for gaming. Not really tried them for anything else so can’t comment.
