Jam Out There Active Noise Cancelling On-Ear Bluetooth Headphones : Great headphones

For the price this is a decent pair of bluetooth headphones for daily and exercising use. My daughter tried them first, she found them easy to set up, after charging them properly, using the online instructions. They paired with her iphone and she said they played music acceptably and cancelled out most ambient sounds. She wore them for an hour and found them fairly comfortable for that amount of time. My husband then said he wanted to try them out when he was using his exercise bike because the sound of the wheels stops him hearing his favourite tracks very well. He used a wired connection and found it worked quite well. He usually uses earbuds and found the noise cancelling feature on these headphones very useful if not completely blocking sounds it did at least make them more muted. The headphones are wipeable and don’t seem to be affected by sweat and they stayed on throughout though he did find them a bit tight. These headphones seem to be a good everyday buy and suitable for most activities.

I wanted some earphones that shut noise out. I’d had a couple of pairs, they were okay but. Firstly, they had to be charged via usb cable. The first charge lasted about two days, give or take. They are a nice snug fit as far as the war cups go, but the band itself was a bit tight. However, they are light to wear, which is a plus. They are supposed to be waterproof, and i did wear them out in the rain, which was okay. They took a few hours to dry out though. There are three buttons on the headphones, you switch it on via the one under the logo. That was a bit fiddly, but with practice, i got better. They do cancel noise well, but there is a noticeable hiss from, i think, the bluetooth until you are actually listening to something.

These are brilliant headphones and i would unreservedly recommend them for their performance, sound quality and use outdoors regardless of the weather. They’re a little tight, even on a relatively small head, so might not stand up to all-day use if you’re wearing them at work in an office or similar, but this is really my only criticism. Since reviewing multiple sets of headphones for amazon on vine i’m a total convert to bluetooth and these work wirelessly very well. The battery life so far is absolutely brilliant and the sound is deep and rich. I’m sure that for a higher price better headphones probably exist, but i’m not sure realistically how much better they could be than this.

When i first saw these headphones i was impressed by their quality. I like the fact they are noise cancelling as i do have hearing issues and noise cancelling is a must. I tried it out with a number of different types of music and was pleased with the clarity. I found the set up easy enough. Some words on the quick start guide would be helpful though. I charged them before i paired with my iphone. A couple of things to watch. They are quite tight to wear. However, i did not remove stars for this as it could be my hearing aids which are the issue.

Very uncomfortable particularly if also wearing spectacles. They are adjustable but i just could not get a way to wear them comfortably. Sound is okay, pretty good for the money to be fair. They are compact enough to carry around fairly easily. The paper instructions were useless, better to figure it out yourself.

Oh what joy – a pair of bluetooth headphones which also allow you to use an audio jack. The sound quality of these is good – i’m not an expert so other people may be pickier, but i was pleased by the sound quality. There are large buttons to skip up and down tracks. I found the bluetooth distance not as impressive as it claimed; other headphones/earphones i’ve had have stretched for a greater distance. I would say it’s about 30ft, but to be fair it’s rare that you are going to be so far away from your music device. Bluetooth connectivity was swift and i like the cool little sounds the headphones make to let you know when you’re connected. Noise cancellation is pretty good; i used them in the gym and was aware of how much they muted compared to my usual earbuds. They’re a bit awkward to put on at first, and are more a square than a round shape, which looks a bit odd; but this is a case of substance over style. Once i tilted them forward on my head i found that they stayed on well (they fell off the first time i lay down). I did find them heavy during a 4 hour flight, having used them for about 3 hours of that.

The anr on these headphones is significantly better than anything else i’ve listened to, short of my £1000 bose aviation headset. In the car the majority of road noise is removed, leaving only the wind noise; elsewhere the effect is the same. I’m no audiofile, but my tunes sound good over bluetooth. I don’t know whether they are compatible with of apt-x or ldac, but i wouldn’t be surprised if they were. 5mm cable allowing wired use. Volume can go painfully loud, though as they literally were painful, perhaps be careful?the wireless controls go a little beyond my other bluetooth headphones, allowing me to increase volume, skip tracks & pause and resume. They have quite a high clamping force, and as it’s onto your ears, not over your ears, i think my ears would become painful after a few hours of use, so perhaps not ideal for long haul flights. I’ve not tried them yet though. In terms of build, they seem fairly well built; the earpieces do have fairly deep fill padding and are quite comfortable, despite the clamping force. They don’t fold up really at all, the earpieces rotate flat and that’s about it. The only other negative is that they use the older microusb socket type rather than the newer usb-c; i’m looking forward to a world where i only have to pack a single cable for all my tech, but we’re not there yet.

These are great headphones for pairing with your phone to enable listening in privacy. The comfortable ear pieces enabling listening over time without causing pain or pressure issues within the ear. They link via bluetooth, which also means there is no need for a wire, although that remains an option. The design is really simple, there are really 3 buttons, and the two main buttons have a raised circle and cross – easy to feel with your fingers, so easy to use when wearing the headphones. The quality of sound is good on speech and fine for radio / music. If you are a particular fan of music with good ears who needs to be able to hear clarity and evenness across the whole range then i would recommend a dedicated set of headphones desgned specifically at high sound quality; but these are pretty good.

  • Great ANR, sounds good too
  • Not amazing, but good enough for me!
  • Excellent quality, reasonable price.

The biggest downside of these is the comfort; however long i wear them, i’m always a bit too aware of them on my head. They’re not terrible, but they could be much better. However, the sound quality is pretty good – very good for speech, less so for music – with a particularly clear bass level. However, it doesn’t sound as natural as more expensive headphones. The noise cancellation is very good, making a huge difference to persistent background noise (vacuuming, rain, train noise). They work equally well by bluetooth, or with the included audio cable attached.

So, i’m not exactly a ‘headphone connoisseur’ in the way a few of my friends are, but having said that, i can’t fault the sound quality of these headphones in any way. I’ve listened to everything from heavy metal, through spoken word, to classical, and i’ve never once thought ‘hmmm. ‘if i had a minor niggle, it would be that i’ve had other (sound cancelling) phones that gave me better battery life – i was honestly a bit surprised how quickly these dropped out in comparison. But if you’re not using the noise cancelling feature (or turn it off when not in use) then battery life more or less stops being a problem. All in all, pretty good headphones, and much more comfortable to wear than some i’ve had.

These are sort of two thirds done which i find a little frustrating – a little more work and thought into comfort would have gone a long way. Wireless and bluetooth at this price is unusual, but both have failings – lag with the wireless and hiss with the bluetooththe headset is heavy but feels solid enough to last for some time and the earcups are comfortable even over glassesa wired connection is also providedthe battery has a pretty good lifespan – around 15+ hours with a quick rechargesound quality is fine for me – clear enough to render most film dialogue audible and fine for classical, bass is a little light and noise cancelling does exacerbate thiscontrol switches are on the ear pieces and as clunky as they always areacceptable at this price – you need to pay quite a bit more for a noticeable improvement.
