Headphones as described – all very good acoustically. Only slight issue is that as you move around any movement on the cables is heard in the headphone quite pronounced.
Excellent option for a mid range price headphones, good sound quality, noise isolation could be better. Tangle free cables really works, but it also needs more space on your pocket than regular ones. A good option to replace the “wonderful” ones you get when you buy a $700-$800 iphone.
I have been looking for a set of flat cable (no tangle) earphones for a while. My main use is watching movies on an idevice and listening to podcasts as i fall asleep. I’ve been through several brands and so far, these ones are the only ones that have handled the rather rough handling a set takes when falling asleep with them in. Every other set i’ve bought have eventually, sooner or later, had a failure in the cable at either the earphone or jack end (i can narrow it down when they are in the process of failing by manipulating the cable and seeing where they drop in and out). They fit fine with my ear on the pillow, unlike some others with fancy ‘design’ features, they sound quite good, actually less coloured than many ‘bass enhanced’ phones. The microphone works for conference calls and skype at work. I am philosophically opposed to ‘munster’ cables, who overprice like crazy and convince people that spending a fortune on a wire is a good idea, and i don’t wish to pay a premium just because some rapper puts his name on a product so these are the best option for me. By the way, i am an audio professional but don’t let that sway you. Most of us fall into the ‘physician, heal thyself’ category but saying that, the sound is fine. I tend to listen to music on monitors rather than earphones but when i have listened to music, the sound is acceptable.
These earphones never get tangled, whatever the abuse. Have to find the right sized bud otherwise they fall out of your ear as the cable is slightly heavier. Even though expensive i’m on my second pair.
I really have to say the a-jay fours are the best earbuds i have ever heard. They look great and the build quality is excellent. They feel like a much more expensive set and performance is fantastic. The bass is rich and heavy, mid and high tones are clear and precise. The remote is situated perfectly for ease of access and the simple operation really works well. I love my reggae music and this set really handles the bass and tops propa highly recommended to everyone.
I read numerous reviews about this item, liked the look of them and decided to buy them. I am very dissapointed having had them a week now. Although the sound quality is above average, it is only very slightly, and at £50 thats an expensive adjustment. Also, the headphone wire may look quirky and cool, but the fact is that it is simply too heavy for the headphones to sit in your ear whilst commuting, moving, running etc. When listening at home they are ideal, but for on the move they lack some what. Also, read many reviews regarding the ‘fuzzing’ sound made when you move the jack. I overlooked this but it is a genuine problem, the slightest movement does interfer with your normal expected sound which once again lets the product down. To summarise: fantastic for home use, but on the move they are a no-no, and are overpriced for similar quality to apples ipod headpohnes.
I’ve always found these earphones to be comfortable and great sounding. They’re also great looking and tangle free thanks to the genius flat cables. The control works great with my iphone 4 – far better than the crappy set you get with the phone itself. They’re a perfect replacement and definitely worth buying. I’m removing a star because thet may be a bit heavy for some ears. Incidentally, i’m selling mine because i’m upgrading.
After going through a few headphone that had average quality and didnt last long i finally think i have found what sounds great, is easy on the pocket for the quality and has a fantastic light weight yet sturdy build. Ive tried shure, skullcandy in the recent past and this is far better than them.

Sound pressure, decibel and Hz,
Sound is an invisible vibration composed of frequencies which travel in undulations known as sound waves. The amplitude of vibration produced by an object such as a speaker driver is proportional to the change of pressure generated as the wave moves through the medium which surrounds it (such as air). Therefore, the amplitude of a sound wave is commonly measured by its pressure level.
The decibel is a non-dimensional, logarithmic scale to denote a relative change in the strength of a signal or wave. When placed in the context of sound pressure level; it measures the nominal threshold of human hearing, relative to the quietest sound audible to the human ear.
The frequency of instances where a sound wave reaches its peak during a period of time is measured in Hz (hertz). This is the number of complete cycles per second. Human hearing is limited to frequencies between about 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz.
Sensitivity and impedance,
Earphone sensitivity is measured in Sound Pressure Level (SPL). This is essentially a measurement of how loud or easily driven a pair of earphones is. The sensitivity is also influenced by the drivers’ coil impedance which varies over the frequency range. The higher the SPL and the lower the impedance the more easily driven your earphones will be.

This review is after 2 months of daily use. I will start with the negative and get it out of the way. The earphones are not good for running, they are well built and heavy. So they bounce around a lot more than others i used in the past. Not designed to have one side loop around the back of your head. Some people may like this, for me this would have reduced some of the bounce from the previous point. Well built, solid earphones.
I bought them recently, and i really enjoyed them. Nice earplugs, good sound, bass are great but. You can’t do your run with those :/ sometimes one of them just slipped.
One of my friends recommended me to buy jays headphone for my iphone and i don’t regret it . The quality of the sound is amazing. You can’t hear any external noise, just enjoy listening to music. The remote is easy to use to pickup call and regulate the sound. I would definetly recommended it.
Good looking and tangle free. Sound is okay slightly concerned about the static sounds that comes from fiddling the base though.
I owned these for a while until i lost them. Sound quality was top notch. The fit and seal are excellent in my ears meaning the bass was pleasing even at low levels, making them ideal for public transport. However the weight and style of cable meant lots of vibration and tugging when moving around. I would not recommend for any exercise, even walking.
Bought a pair of these for my son for christmas as an alternative to monster beats tour which are a bit over-priced in my book. Dont get me wrong, i love my beats, they sound great but the build quality is questionable and i think you can get equally good sound for much less. I bought these after reading good reviews and i have to agree, the sound quality is amazing, great base and mid range too, more of a balanced sound than my beats. The build quality is also better in my view, the control button is very robust and i cant imagine it falling to pieces like my original pair of beats did after a few months (has them replaced under warranty, but remains to be seen how long they will last). So, not as cool and fashionable as monster beats, but better sound and better build quality in my view.
I liked these but the price is too much. Nowadays much better quality are available at a fraction of the cost.
Tried some similar super expensive monster headphones first, which broke after a couple of month. These sound equally good in my opinion, but are way more solid and more functionally designed. Buy these if you need some solid headphones that sound good and last.

Jays a-Jays Four Voice Optimised speakers with iPhone Remote and Mic – Black
I was advised by a friend that the ajays was where it was at. But personally i do not think so. Having bought it foolishly without trying it on or testing on android devices,i learnt an expensive lesson. The sound is fine, but my previous £15 sennheisers had more bass and clarityas i bought this purely to use when i am driving, it does exactly what i need; but without the benefit of the volume controls working (non compatible with htc desire hd)don’t get me wrong, the voice clarity while talking on the phone is very clear. I would give it 5 stars if it were around £20 mark.
Excellent range, comfortable and good looking. My only advice (or slight complaint) would be that you have to ensure they are seated very well in your ear and the bud makes a solid seal in your ear canal. I’ve always used this type of headphone, and i must say these are the most awkward to insert, but sound absolutely fantastic when you put them in properly. Just to make another point though, it isn’t hard to do this, just make sure there not flapping around in your ear.
Jays’ a-jays four in-ear headphones feature an innovative flat and allegedly tangle-free cable as well as a remote tailored for ipod, iphone and ipad, topped off with numerous silicon sleeves to help you find the ultimate fit. That’s a compelling list of features, but are they the best budget earphones yet?. A bit of my personal headphone biography first. I’ve owned an ever-growing number of headphones over the years, from open cans like the grado sr-60s, closed cans like the sony mdr-v6 studio monitors and an entire range of in-ear monitors from shure name shure e2cs, e4cs, se210s and se310s. Top that off with various portable amps, from budget fiio amps to homemade cmoys. Some music-lovers like to invest in expensive speakers and home amps, which makes sense if you listen mainly at home but i do most of my listening on the move, so i considered spending a bit extra on good quality headphones a solid investment. What wasn’t so solid was the fact i constantly seem to break them. Shure offer a fantastic 2 year warrantee on all of their in-ear monitors, something i made good use of. Which explains why i have so many different models, with older ones often being replaced with the newer equivalent under warrantee.
