Logitech 981-000257 G930 – : Very good set of headphones

So i’ve been looking for a replacement headset for some time, i love the g930s as they’re comfortable, reliable, have fantastic surround sound and most importantly, are wireless. I ordered these on 16th of august, at half the price of other refurb units, the only downside was the expected delivery date was 16th september, a very long wait, but i’d put up with my spare headset for a few weeks already, what was a few more. On 19th august i had a knock on my door, thinking it was my house mate having locked himself out again, i trundled downstairs in my dressing gown to look bleary-eyed at a postman. ” clearly he was as shocked by my hairy, pale ankles as i was by his presence. He handed over a large brown paper package with my name on the front of it. Given i’d ordered some spare ear pads (as i spend a lot of time wearing my headsets), i expected to open the package and find them. A gleaming, black pair of g930s restored to nigh on immaculate condition. Almost unable to contain my surprise, i swiftly plugged them in back at my pc and was transported into long lost territory with glorious surround sound, a built-in micro phone and most importantly (given my house mate) a high degree of noise cancellation.

Now let me say something, i’ve never reviewed anything in my life but after 3 months after buying these bad boys, i had to review them. Not let me say, if you’ve got money to spend on a headset, dont buy these, they are okay at best, the battery life on them are terrible, they cut out every now and then and if you’re playing a game and that happens it can completely f*ck up your game. Sometimes the audio crackles too, the voice with the microphone is mediocre, let me just say i spend most of the time while gaming with the charger in, charging these headphones up that the wireless is completely pointless, spending 100+ pounds on these and receiving all this crap which came with it, i’m not very happy, especially from logitech as i have heard all good things from them. If these headphones were 40-50 pounds then i would be more contempt but spending over 100 pounds on these and the quality of the whole headset is not up to par, really was a bad investment.

Great headset, though avoid buying if using apple software as they don’t even bother to support this product (ergo: none of the featires work).

I am going to start of by saying i love this headset. I’ve been using them for 2 years with only one fault. The charging port has failed and i needed to claim on the warranty. Logitech were great at troubleshooting to make sure it was the headset and then sent me a completely new one without having the receipt (although extra hoops were needed to ensure it was genuine. ) the sound quality has remained consistent, the mic is great and happily cancels out external noise that voice communications doesn’t want to hear. I love the fact these are wireless and i can move about while still being able to listen in. However the battery life and charging need serious improvement. I am an avid gamer and if i am going to be playing i need to keep these plugged in to charge otherwise i’ll have a very short gaming session. The other problem is the charging cable/port these come with. At first it’s a very solid connection and will keep you going without problems.

Very good set of headphones, excellent sound definition and noise cancelling. Only slight complaint is that volume did not go quite as loud as i expected though that may be due to my software/games. Also logitech gaming software does not work with this headset on my 64 bit windows 8. It recognises their presence but does not allow any programming of functions unlike my logitech mx 518 gaming mouse and logitech g13 gaming keypad which function fine with this software.

My friend just got these & we compared them to my tritton pro + 5. Whilst it’s nice to be wireless that’s about as far as the comparisons go. These are quiet, not as comfortable, have far less adjustable sound options, & the overall sound quality difference between the two is laughable.Oh & the battery life & wireless range was pretty poor. These are ok but nothing special. My friend is now saying he thinks the wired trittons are the way to go & is going to send these back to get a pair. So definitely wouldn’t recommend these as the 2 headphones are similar in price.
