Coffee & Blogging Monthly Favourites | No.4

It’s been a while, I know, but here’s another Monthly Favourites – I’ve already made it clear my Monthly Favourites won’t occur on a monthly basis (weird, right?), but that’s to avoid these posts becoming repetitive, boring and simply silly. So, here’s another monthly favourites post for you to feast your eyes on.monthly favourites 4

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette
I’ve been using this pretty much everyday for work ever since I got this back in November last year, all because of two reasons; they’re all wearable colours and they’re matte. That’s right, every single shade is a matte powder and I LOVE it! My three go-to shades for work are: Nudie (2nd top row), Tempted (4th top row) and Faith (3rd bottom row) – but the others I can easily incorporate into different eye looks when trying something different.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Pen in Shade 1
I was a lucky girl when my little sister gave me a YSL beauty set for Christmas last year, including a previous favourite; this YSL Radiant Touch pen, but also the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer – this may feature in an upcoming favourites, but I’ve not used it enough to know whether it’s really working for me just yet. Anyhow, the Radiant Touch pen is a favourite when it comes to brightening up my eyes in the morning when it’s been a rough one – sleep AT ALL! If you’re looking to try this, but don’t want to splash the cash just yet, check out my YSL Radiant Touch pen dupe!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Liner Pen in Black
Since being added to the Rimmel PR mailing list a couple months back, I’ve been pretty fortunate to try out their new launches as they arrive in-store (or even a couple days before)! So far I’ve had mixed feelings about the products sent, but two products I have been L O V I N G are this Precision eyeliner; it’s got the perfect nib to create a sort-of-good winged liner (that’s simply down to my ability) and is also long-lasting – unfortunately, it doesn’t sit on top of eyeshadow as well as you’d hope, but lucky for me I don’t put the two together! The other Rimmel products I’m loving are The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks.

Rimmel Volume Colourist Mascara in 001 Black
Now, L’Oreal will always remain as my all-time favourite high street brand for mascara (with Too Faced Better Than Sex being the high end equivalent), but lately I have been loving this Rimmel Volume Colourist mascara. Why? Because I’ve been opting for minimal makeup looks lately, simply to give my skin a breather, and this mascara is perfect for adding subtle volume and boldness, but without the clumping and spider-like lashes. The brush is longer and skinnier than standard mascara brushes, but I like this design for my current makeup phase – minimal.

Seventeen Blemish Balm in Light
BB creams will forever be favoured over foundations for me, because they are more suitable for my skin type. However, the only issue with that is, the lack of coverage BB creams give. That’s why I love the Seventeen Blemish Balm though, because it’s got such a nice dewy finish and is really hydrating, but it actually has a light to medium coverage that’s quite buildable too.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Plumsup
This has been my go-to lip product since lipsticks are a thing of the past for me lately; glosses aren’t usually my kinda lip product, but these Sexy Mother Pucker ones are simply awesome. Firstly, they smell like chocolate – that’s a brownie point right there. Secondly, they tinkle your lips and make them appear bigger, to give you a fuller and plumper look. G I V E  M E  T H E M  A L L!

This Works Mask, Moisturiser & Primer in One
Save yourself time in the morning and buy this. As soon as I’ve finished washing my face with my daily cleanser, I simply wack this on and five minutes later, I’m doing my makeup as my skin is all prepped, hydrated and ready to go. if you’ve got dry skin like me, then this is the one for you!

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint & Pencil in Brownie Points
I got this last Christmas in the Soap & Glory makeup set which Boots had on offer and, although it’s taken some time to actually understand how to use it properly, this is becoming my quick go-to brow solution. I still prefer using powder for my brows with a tiny angled brush, but it does require time and a lot of focus to get them right that way. The Archery pen though, is great; I tend to use the tint pen first and go over any sparse areas, creating hair strokes in the direction the brow naturally grows. Then, I take the pencil end, and simply fill in where necessary. I’ll admit, the results aren’t as good as when I use powder, but when looking for a more natural look and a quick-fix in the morning, this has been my go-to brow product.

Soap & Glory Glow All Out Highlighting Powder in Shimmer Switch
I’ll be honest, blusher isn’t really my thing, but since using this highlighting powder, I’ve slowly gone back to it. Although a highlighting powder (not a blusher), this shade I use has pink pigments in it which gives an ever-so-subtle pop of colour to the cheeks, which I’ve been loving!

Relax, Don’t Flap Art Print
I don’t know what it is, but I love ducks. Yes, I run crying if one comes flying near me, but I love looking at them and walking round a park or lake feeding them! The lovely team over at The Card Gallery sent over this A4 print of this beauty, which reads ‘Relax, don’t flap which I L O V E! It’s different to other worded prints you get, plus I can’t wait to get a frame ready for this when me and my partner get a house at the end of the year! I’m already thinking this’ll take star place in the hallway or kitchen by the door, just as a gentle reminder to relax. The Card Gallery do a lot of other prints too, so be sure to check them out, but they also do wedding bits and bobs, invitations and even stickers!

Weekly Blog Planner

Two friends got me this pad of weekly blog sheets for my birthday back in March and I’m loving it so far! I’m not as busy on the blog-front as I was back in January, because I’ve had my job and studying to juggle, so blogging is taking a little bit of a back seat until December unfortunately!
