Lately I’ve found myself getting my hands on a handful of new beauty products – yippee! But, rather than doing lots of mini reviews, I figured I’d bang them all into this one post and show you the products I’ve been trying out this month so far. It’s as simple as that!
Caudalie French Kiss Tinted Lip Balm, Addiction
This has been a much anticipated beauty product for me – I love lip balms, purely because I have fairly chapped lips, but to up that by one, I love tinted lip balms. That’s why the French Kiss collection by Caudalie is quite exciting to me. French Kiss is a collection of three tinted lip balms in three different shades; Innocence, Seduction & Addiction (the shade I’ve been trying). The product has been created to moisturise, protect and illuminate for irresistibly kissable lips. Firstly, the smell is A M A Z I N G! I’m not sure if the scent differs for each shade, but all I can tell you is that Addiction smells awesome. It’s sweet and fruity, mainly berries, and is just so nice!
But, when it comes to the product itself, is it as good as it smells? The answer – yes. It’s super hydrating and feels like any other lip balm – it doesn’t have a sticky texture, it lasts for around 3-4 hours before I feel like I should ‘top up’ and the colour is lovely. The shade Addiction does look like a dark berry colour in the pot, which is a personal preference of mine anyway, but for those who aren’t as daring to try shades that dark, it doesn’t come out as dark – so fear not. It’s almost like it enhances your natural lip colour, but without the need for a lipstick.
Benecos Adorable Lashes Natural Mascara, Deep Ocean
I’ve tried Benecos beauty in the past (read all about their autumn collection here), but they’ve recently introduced a few new items to their range, including this mascara. It comes with a curved brush, which I personally don’t get on with. I don’t find they grab my lashes as much as the standard brushes do, but still gave this a go. Luckily, it’s not as curved as other brushes of this design I’ve tried. It gives a nice natural effect when applying the mascara – non-clumpy and means you won’t get those ‘spider-like’ lashes which are always hit and miss. However, the colour isn’t my best choice. I asked for Deep Ocean, without thinking this could potentially be blue…and it is. Don’t get me wrong, it’s barely noticeable in some ways as it’s more of a blue-tinted black, but in certain lights it does show up.
Perfect Formula Pink Get Coat
I’m obsessed with this nail polish lately. I’ve decided to give my nails a break from nail polish lately, as they’ve become so dry and brittle that I figured they need the break – not that I wore it often anyway! Nevertheless, at the beginning of the month I got my hands on the Tili Beauty Box by QVC (if you’re a beauty box fanatic, go check it out now!) and this little beauty was sat inside. It’s a clear gel coat which has a pink tint to it (available in other colours) and it simply helps to strengthen your nails and brighten them at the same time. My nails always look really healthy when wearing a coat of this – you apply on to clean, dry nails and wear for up to one week. Then, remove with your standard nail polish remover (acetone or acetone-free – the choice is yours) and reapply. I’ve literally worn nothing else since using this, and right now, don’t think I’ll ever steer away from using it!
Benecos Mattifying Natural Compact Powder, Sand
I think I fell a little unlucky when it came to picking shades from the Benecos website, because the shade Sand is unfortunately one shade too dark for me! Unfortunately there’s not a vast range of options, which makes it fairly difficult for me to gauge what was best (I’m in between fair-medium, so thought this would be a good pick).
Bareminerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lip Colour, Juju
I’m not a matte liquid lip kind of gal. In fact, I’m not a huge fan of any liquid lip – other than the Colourpop velvet ones – they’re awesome. But, lately I have been trying this Bareminerals liquid lip and I’m L O V I N G it! It’s more of a velvet matte, which is ideal for my chapped lips, and the shade Juju is lovely. It’s more of a mauve nude, which complements my pale skin tone really well. Also found in this month’s QVC Tili Beauty Box!
