Russell Hobbs RHM2064B Heritage Digital 800w Solo Microwave : Good quality

It takes a little while for someone of my age to understand all the buttons. However it works fine and looks good.

I bought the grey combo toaster, kettle and microwave. I gave this 4 stars because whilst the kettle and toaster match in colour, the microwave is a matt colour darker than the other two appliances. I cannot slate the working of the appliances because all 3 deliver with quality.

After careful consideration as alot of these amazon reviews claim their microwave almost blew up i was abit sceptical. But my microwave has been fine. The different setting for reheating/defrosting i haven’t learnt so i just put everything in for varied time without adjusting the specific micropower. Looks small but fits everything my 24l fitted.

This mocrowave is solidly made, looks great and is very easy to use.

Absolutely love the look of this microwave. A metallic red and it certainly is. Came really well wrapped and also with protective film around it.

I am not a big fan of microwave ovens, but with my daughter working odd hours, i had to give in. It does it job, which in my case is simply reheating a meal i cooked earlier. I don’t want it for cooking a complete meal etc. The only drawback in my mind is the mirror finish door which is a nighmare to keep clean. When it is polished it looks great, but touch the door.

Good microwave that so far has done the job perfectly well. Hasn’t had any problems in the two weeks i’ve been using it. Would prefer analogue controls to digital, as setting the power levels actually requires reading the instructions, rather than simply turning a dial. People love making things more complex than they need to be.

A good option in the basic model. Just the visibility from outside, when the microwave is running is not upto the mark. Its almost impossible to see what is going on inside through the outside glass.

2 tbsp self-raising flour

4 tbsp mini marshmallows

1 tbsp raisins

2 tbsp. broken rich tea biscuits

Method:

2. Add the cocoa powder and stir to combine. Next add the egg and sugar, beating with a fork.

3. Add the flour and beat again until smooth.

4. Stir in most of the marshmallows, raisins and biscuits and sit the remaining on top.

5. Cook on full power for 1 minute 40 seconds. Check that the mixture is cooked. If not, add time and check at 30 second intervals until it is completely cooked through.

Fuss-Free Poached Egg

Jacket Potato

1 tbsp olive oil

Sea salt

Method:

1. Thoroughly wash and dry the potato.

2. Using a fork pierce the potato skin in 4 or 5 places.

4. Place on a microwavable plate and cook on full power for 4 minutes.

5. Turn the potato and cook for a further 3-4 minutes, checking the progress at 1 minute intervals.*

6. Serve with your favourite filling.

Steamed Salmon, Potatoes and Asparagus

2 salmon fillets

300g baby potatoes

250g asparagus

1 tsp butter

2 slices lemon

1 tbsp. chopped dill

Salt and pepper

Method:

1. Place the potatoes in a microwavable container with the butter. Season and cover with cling film. Cook on full power for 4-5 minutes or until cooked. Keep covered.

2. Meanwhile, place the salmon in a microwavable container with the lemon and dill. Season and cover with cling film. As soon as the potatoes are cooked, cook the salmon on full power for 3 minutes. If necessary, extend the cooking time by up to 2 minutes, checking at regular intervals until the salmon is cooked through.

3. Finally, wash and trim the asparagus, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes, then serve with the salmon and potatoes.

Hints and Tips

About your Russell Hobbs microwave

Microwave ovens do not generate any heat themselves but instead cause water molecules in food to vibrate. This vibration produces heat that cooks the food. This is why your food will come out of the microwave piping hot, when your utensils inside the microwave stay much cooler.

Microwaves cannot go through metal, so the inside of the appliance is lined with metal. The door is lined with a fine metal mesh which stops microwaves getting through.

Cleaning:

Avoid using scouring pads, steel wool or other abrasives. Warm soapy water and a sponge should get rid of all moisture and food spillages.

How to get the best cooking results

Reheat

With five microwave power levels to choose from, you can ensure all your food is cooked or re-heated to the optimum temperature.

Auto-Defrost

This microwave has automatic defrost settings, all you have to do is input the weight of the food and the microwave selects the ideal defrost time.

Auto Cook Menus

The RHM2064 also features pre-programmed auto cook menus such as pizza, fish and popcorn, allowing you to cook all your favourite food at the push of a button.

Avoiding Mishaps

To avoid any microwave mishaps it is recommended to take extra care with the following:

Low moisture foods (eg. cereals, bagels, dried pasta, pulses and chocolate)

– These must be cooked on a low power level for a very short length of time, or preferably not at all.

High sugar content foods (eg. jams, syrups)

– These foods can become easily ‘super-heated’ when cooked in a microwave oven.

Foods containing alcohol

– Foods with an alcohol content must not be cooked in a microwave as they could ignite.

Foods with a membrane or outer skin (eg. fruits, sausages, potatoes)

– Food with a sealed or none porous skin must be pierced to allow pressure and steam to escape.

Really good for what i use it for. Cooking pre packed meals and heating the same.

It’s the best russell hobbs microwarve i have had and i give it 100% a ok.

Another fantastic purchase from a reputable company. In brief, we moved houses and wanted a microwave to match our kettle/toaster. I figured this would do great, and it did. It has plenty of space, it looks great and works really well. There’s not much more i can say as it is just a microwave at the end of the day. It does the job with different levels, lots of settings and a really useful timer.

Great looking easy to use microwave. Super simple controls – no pizza, chicken, weight or other bs setting. Awesome matt grey finish with mirrored front door and push button open. Recommended, espec for compact spaces.

Firstly i must say i liked the instructions which came in the box. Slightly larger print so easy to read. So many times appliance print is quite small. I ordered this basically because of the grey colour. I needed a small, easy to use grey coloured microwave by manufacturer i trusted. This one matches my other russel hobbs appliances so fits in well. Some people mentioned rusting but it does tell you yo dry up any moisture, i tend to leave door open too for a short while. I do also cover the food too to stop splashes. If you are use to a handle on your microwave the push button opening might be annoying, doesn’t bother me. The plate stays firmly in place as with my other russell hobbs microwave it kept slipping off the rollers.

A basic microwave, which i use every day without problem. My use it very simple, set power, time and go, and it works really well; it does have a number of pre-programmed settings, which i have never found the need to use,i use it every day, it is robust, easy to use, easy to clean. If you are looking for a fairly basic microwave oven, you will be very happy with this,.

Lovely microwave small but can still fit a dinner plate in it easily, purchased another one first, but it was really big, nothing actually wrong with it apart from the size.

More then i had hoped, looks good and is fine for my needsif you buy this you will be nagged to continuously write a review – i have written a review twiceand am still being hounded to do so again again again ad nauseum.

Russell Hobbs RHM2064B Heritage Digital 800w Solo Microwave, 20 Litre – Black

Easy to use panel super easy to clean.

Easy to use is the best value of this microwave, the only drawback that i can think of is the room of it is slightly too small, but other than that, worth ever penny~.

Never looked at the manual (i am a bloke afterall) and started using it instantly and everything about this is common sense, not complicated. Nice metalic red colour too.

I didnt realise how black this model was. . The black exterior makes it look very 1980s and dated. Functionally speaking, its fine.

It matches my new red and white kitchen perfectly. My only criticism is that the programming takes a little getting used to. I kept the manual handy until i had got to grips with it. Its quite easy really when you know how.

It is easy to clean, despite the mirrored door.

I purchased this microwave on a black friday special in november, and so far i have not been disappointed. A perfect addition to my new kitchen.

Arrived wonderfully packed and has been working like a charm. I find the door hinge a little dainty and therefore i am being just a tiny bit gentle when the door is open otherwise i’ve been using it for a month now and its been working well and its easy to clean with wipes.

Looks brill and works fine :).

We purchased this microwave as a replacement for our old warhorse of a unit which finally gave up after many years. Admittedly we are only very occasional users of a microwave, with baked beans, jacket potatoes and the defrost function being our main uses. This unit was surprisingly compact and fits perfectly under our cupboard on the kitchen work surface. The unit appears compact but on inspection still perfectly fits our tommee tippee steriliser that we had already purchased for use with the old unit. The digital dial takes some getting used to as you must start at the large numbers and turn down to get to the more common one and two minute timings however the build quality is great and this can be done in no time at all. The only downside to this unit is the admittedly lush mirrored door which becomes marked in the kitchen environment with the slightest touch and we find ourselves constantly wiping this over as a result, but that may only be an issue for those with an obsessive streak like myself and shouldn’t deter you from purchasing this, especially at such a competitive price when lined up against the competition.

Looks good along my russell and hobbe kettle works well easy to use.

We had already checked it out in real life, then got it delivered next day for a lot less from amazon :-). The placement of the buttons is a bit strange but if you need a small red micro (as we did), i haven’t found a better one at this price.

For a small household highly recommended and not complicated.

Nice looking with mirrored front. The dials can be a tad sensitive which means you are frequently having to reset it but has a lot of functions and is decent value for money.

An efficient compact microwave at a reasonable price. But for a person with visual impairment it has some slight problems – a black interior and no interior light when the door is open creates some difficulties for me – just have to take and adjust how i use an otherwise efficient microwave.

How can i comment on the durability of this product when i have only had it since friday.

I like the colour and size of this microwave. I do not like the timer dial which is very difficult to set the time accurately and impossible to set seconds. I was so disappointed i nearly returned this micro but unfortunately i had disposed of the packaging. Hopefully i will get used to this after a bit more use.
