My last tv was one of the first 32′ smart hd 3d, this one is 5 times faster, i had to check online how to fix the intro pop up asking for the zone, and i didn’t register to samsung account to have interactive apps, but amazon prime works strait. The sound is good enough for me, and with that size i can see more details, still, some channels were a bit blury, and i order a 4k hd indoors antena. That did maked the whole diference, i’m amazed. I had an issue with the delivery due xmas period and the seller was extremely suportive, so i can’t fault anything.
This is no exception – so far at least. It has all the smart tv apps you expect and works well / sounds good. However, i do have a complaint about the new set up process. It would not initially let me set up from the remote, but asked me to load the app on my phone first and then asked me to register with samsung, which i didn’t want to do. However, i gave in and registered to try and get the tv beyond the startup screen – it then started to do the setup through the home wi-fi. Only to crash and tell me to try again. I did and then it told me the tv was already registered to a different account (fume). . At this point it allowed me to resume set up from the remote. But again you have to input your samsung account details (why do we have to do this?.
If this is the way we’re going with smart tvs then the future looks a bit bleak. Quite often an app will load and you pick something to watch but then the video doesn’t start. The internet is clearly connected and you can use the browsers etc. But the videos just won’t load. This has happened with netflix, prime video, mubi even plex play which loads local network videos. You have to unplug it whilst its on several times and hope its sorts itself out when it comes back on. Plus samsung are cluttering up your interface with advertising and keep re-adding channels promoting videos with sometimes adult content on them. I think i might go back to sony android tv as they seem more robust software wise and have a bigger community forcing them to fix things when they break.
The questions seem to repeat a lot of the same stuff so :yes it has a freeview tuneryes it has a freesat tuneryes it is ledyes it has wifi and an rj45 ethernet socketno it does not have bluetooth yes it is a smart tvyes netflix and youtube are built-in appsyes it comes with a remoteno it does not come with a wall bracketno it does not have some weird thing that plays adverts over tv programmes (or at all)i have had this set 4 months and am very happy with it, the one downside is that it does not have bluetooth built in, which is my fault for not spotting. If it were possible i would give it 4. 25 stars – half a star removed for the hard to comprehend lack of bluetooth which even the cheapest of phones manage to have and the other quarter removed for the way that you cannot remove apps that you are not interested in. Trust me marketeers, annoying your customers is not the way to make them try stuff especially stuff that is not free.
I bought this to replace an older and smaller samsung smart tv which was getting unreliable in picking up the wifi network. Nothing worse than having your favourite netflix video interrupted by no signal. Really nice quality picture – it is ultra hd. Sound sometimes a little on the quiet side. Have to keep adjusting it depending on what channel/streaming service i am using. Disappointed that there does not seem to be a way to watch now tv on it, (except cabling it through from my laptop) but apart from that i give this tv top marks.
The tv is very good picture and sound good the only problem was there were no screws to fix it to the stand i had the go to my local diy and get long screws you would have thought with a 400 pound tv that the screws would be provided and the manual was mostly in foreign just the first 5 pages in english whitch didnt tell you anything as to setting the tv up.
Has adverts built in which you can’t turn off :(however, it’s really good for the price. I was able to enable uhd mode on my ps4 but it didn’t look very good. If you want uhd you need to get an oled tv but they’re more expensive. There’s no headphone jack so if you want external audio, you need to buy a sound bar. You can control it from an app on your phone or turn it off with a google home etc.
Nice tv; very slim and light weight. Easy to set up, especially if you have a samsung account already. Only flaw i have noticed is the tv asks for my region every time i turn it on even though it’s already set. Depending on the source the black levels are variable (can be more on streaming or digital only files-i compared the digitial version of infinity war with the blu ray, with blu ray coming out much better with the darker tones). The sound is a little hollow/ tinny but even a cheap sound bar can boost quite easily (just change your sound output to pcm). Remote is easy to use and you’ll really get the most out of this if you already netflix, amazon prime and youtube accounts. Apps appear to be a bit thin on the ground unless i’m missing out on some kind of google play store index. Decent smart features but as with 99% of smart tvs nothing that you wouldn’t just expect-especially if you already have sky tv. In summary, decent tv-baragin at the price and buying on here with prime delivery (next day) will save you another £20 on the closet cost comparison.
According to the various reviews, the ue55nu7100 is meant to be impressive but i’m not impressed, samsung. As others mentioned, there’s simply too many ads and trailers, worst thing is, you can’t really disable them if you have the display setup to receive freeview. However, if you’re like me and use the display mostly as a display to watch online content from amazon, netflix or any of the other paid streaming service, you can simply delete all the terrestrial tv channels in the channel listings and this will stop any or all trailers, dead. The problem i’m experiencing with the samsung ue55nu7100 is the lack of picture customization, by lacking, i really mean, whatever settings i seem to set it the screen always seems to be slightly off.The contrast is either too strong r not strong enough, there’s no fine adjustments. As for the blacks, it’s not as bad as the reviewers make out to be. Though there’s is a slight glow in one of the corners, which is a shame. For this reason alone, i’m gonna return mine an look for an alternative.
I was initially disappointed with the picture, but i think that’s more a problem with some sky hd channels not being very good quality. Once i checked out the 4k features, i was impressed. Netflix 4k streaming is great and that’s where you really see the difference in quality. I must admit, the non 4k picture quality could be better, and the old samsung tv downstairs (probably 5 years old or more) has a better image quality on normal hd channels, which was a little disappointing but, for the price, you are unlikely to get a better tv. If you want undisputed tv quality and image clarity, then you will have to spend more on a higher spec tv, but for general purposes this is a good option and the 4k is very nice. I would recommend this tv, but if you are expecting miracles (like i admittedly was) then you’ll have to push the boat out and get an oled or qled.
. You do have to tweak the picture. I advise that you knock down the green a bit on the rgb settings. Once we did that it was brilliant. But i dont know why they send it out with this greenish tint?.
Good points:great quality, easy setup, no ads (don’t know what the other reviewers are doing, in 5 months of daily usage haven’t seen a single ad)quick to power on & offhas built-in casting so any smart-phone can cast straight to it without 3rd party apps requiredbad points:not ‘alexa compatible’ in the sense that alexa will it off & on, and that’s it. The ‘universal guide’ that they advertise is basically a giant ad page to buy films (i never open it & avoid it as a result)non-vesa mounting holes, you’ll have to use the standard ‘ 2 vertical rails’ form of mounting for this tv, that and the rear is a weird curve shape (much more exaggerated than in the pictures) which makes wall-mounting such a pain (you’ll have to use spacers to fill the gap for the top holes)app’s i’ve confirmed work that do not come with the tv: steamlink & plex, your usual netflix & web browser are installed out the box along with a bunch of bloatware which can be hidden/uninstalled.
Incredible upgrade for almost anyone. The picture quality is amazing, although the “auto motion plus” removes cinematic feel, it looks incredible but i opt for it to be turned off. Speakers are incredible for such a thin tv – i was very worried before we purchased about reviews saying it’s bad but they’re incredible. Io could be better but a cheap 4k hdmi splitter increases the number of ports from 3 to 7 which is what we needed. Built in apps are lightning fast, built in casting, steam link, netflix apps are brilliant. Tivo remote and fire remote both control tv without hassle. The usb although rated high enough power does not supply quite as much as required for 4k amazon fire stick which is how most people will get 4k input, which is a minor down point. Brilliant product for the size in 4k. Cheapest i could find that was a good brand from a trusted site like amazon. The only thing i thought was a bit flimsy was the tv leg stands. Even when screwed in as tight as possible, it does not feel like solid when you screw in the screw, and the tv very slightly wobbles if you touch it slightly which is of course worrying, perhaps the legs that connect to the tv could be much more sturdy but never the less, it’s not going to move once it’s set up (i hope, in case someone knocks into it). Happy with the apps, quality, and you can plug pretty much anything into it for modern day use.
Not had a smart tv before so not quite sure what to expect. It seems ok, nothing special. The picture quality on the tv however is 5*. A good size for my small lounge so overall happy with the choice of this samsung. One thing to watch out for is the very expensive ‘service’ offered by amazon to have the tv fitted to the wall. I paid over an extra 200 pounds to have the tv fitted to the wall by a ‘specialist engineer’. I will be interested to see if amazon edit my feedback.
Ok bad things first and there are only two things, firstly there are ads that others have mentioned and they are a little annoying. Secondly and more annyoying for me personally or anyone who wants to play video games. The refresh rate is a little slow. And you will need a soundbar as the sound is a little tinny. Up so i don’t know how easy or hard that was but it looked pretty straight forward. All in all for the price is a very good for the quality. Update for console gamers don’t use game mode and refresh rate seems better, but it’s not terrible either way.
Technically, this is a great tv. I received the 40inch uk 7120 version, undamaged and on time from reliant direct. Installation was straight forward with a set of easy steps to follow. The setup via the mobile didn’t work, but that could have been user error or account issues. Pros:fantastic screen quality. Good app selection covering catchup tv, streaming video and audio services. Great audio especially via optical out. Cons:enforced apps and tvplus. I cannot express, politely, how much i hate this. It is unbelievable that samsung force these services onto the experience, with no way to disable or hide them.
This is my first smart tv and i must say i am very impressed, for the price the sound quality is very good and the picturer in hd totally awesome and i also had no problem controlling this tv with my amazon alexa.
It’s huge, and i regret buying such a large tv. However, the picture quality is fantastic (i haven’t seen more expensive tvs to compare it to but i feel like it’s a bit pointless to spend more for only minor improvements). It’s great for using youtube on and the built in freeview is great. I think you might be able to record your shows if you plug in a storage device but i haven’t tried it. Only a selection of channels actually support the hd quality so if you were looking at buying a more expensive tv, it might not be worth it just yet.
Reviews from purchasers :
This TV has Freesat
Fantastic at a great price.
Natural colours with good sound
Very good quality with high resolution. Easy to assemble on your own.
Bought as a srceen for the ps4, i’m very impressed with all the features of this smart tv. All the catch up services and netflix / amason video are there, as expected, but the bonus is plugging it in to the old sky dish, this has the complete freesat service which is not mentioned in the advertising on both amazon and other online retailers. Picture quality is spot on and for the price i can’t recommend it enough. Tvsandmore did take 1 week to deliver but i was in no rush so did not mind the wait. Very please with the purchase.
I’m not sure the picture quality is the best for the price of the tv. We also spent an inordinate amount of time trying to connect a soundbar to the tv via bluetooth or wirelessly. I had to phone the helpline only to find out after about half an hour that the tv has no bluetooth or wireless connection for the soundbar so it had to be connected manually (wired). Not too happy about this as a modern tv at this price should have these as standard.
Its great tv but you need to spend 10min adjusting the pic colors. I connected my ps4 and the pic quality is outstanding. The sound quality is really good. It’s definitely recommended.
I am astonished by the performance of this smart tv. The picture quality is outstanding; this crispness, the smoothness and the vividness of the colour makes the experience extremely immersive. I am also impressed with the inbuilt speakers of the tv. In our lounge we have a dolby atmos theatre which is just incredible and going from that to generic tv speakers i can say i am impressed. The physical appearance of the tv is another plus for me, the thin bezel and the subtle samsung logo placed centrally on the bottom makes it an enjoyable black rectangle to look at when not watching tv. I must also mention the featherweight of the product and the thinness of it; when wall mounted to a low profile bracket, the tv becomes a part of the wall. I am very impressed with this product especially at an affordable price point of £400. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their experience.
One reviewer said they had to fiddle about with the colour settings but after plugging it in went to picture settings and changed the default mode to dynamic and what i got was the clearest picture imaginable. I owned a soundbar and the digital sound is superb. I think its essential to have a soundbar because televisions these days have the speakers to the rear and the analogue sound can be rather muffled. Soundbars are not that expensive but essential for the ultimate in viewing experience. This television is highly recommended and by purchasing it through amazon great savings can be achieved.
This tv was purchased for use in a small living room and like other samsungs the picture quality is excellent, the sound is pretty good for small flatscreen and samsung’s smart tv environment works well. The only quibbles are that this particular tv does not have a ‘nowtv’ app – a weird omission as the app appears on virtually every other samsung smart tv – and that very occasionally there have been problems with smart tv content not loading (the apps remain blank, there’s a black screen etc. Restarting everything seems to fix this latter problem and it’s quite possibly a router issue not a tv issue.
The seller even got in contact to discuss delivery as they knew it would be later than expected due to my location. The picture and sound quality of the tv is great. Slightly annoyed with the fact that movie adverts come up every time the tv is turned on but that’s not the worst thing. Also, if you plan on attaching it to a wall you will need to buy separate fixings – this is the first tv that i’ve come across that doesn’t have that. In the manual it says to buy a samsung wall bracket but we just used our existing bracket and went to the local shop and bought screws (£1.
The 4k is amazing if you can find quality content for it, was watching planet earth on netflix and it looks incredible. I know there are tvs with better picture out there, but for the price point you can’t go wrong at all. The sound is surprisingly decent, a bit of bass, it did have a high pitch whine when first turned on but that went away. Now using a sound bar anyway. The apps are great, have all the ones i use like now tv, netflix, spotify etc. Great it comes with steam link too so i can play pc games without connecting my pc to the tv via hdmi. Build quality was surprisingly good for the price, obviously not super high end but doesn’t feel cheap or too flexible. Would recommend to anyone looking for a 4k for a good price.
If you’re looking for a tv good for gaming or watching movies, then this tv does its job perfectly. I have lived on a computer monitor for watching movies and gaming for 3 years, and this was an awesome addition for console gaming. I havnt tried pc gaming as of yet, but their may be input lag from the hdmi to pc. Sound is pretty good on tv and clear and i’ve come from watching movies on speakers and subwoofer. I think people complaining about sound here maybe asking to much from tv’s in general, get a sound system if you want the best sound is just common sense. As for sound systems, it has no aux, but believe their is a converter you can plug into one of the hdmi for connect headphones or speakers if they’re not bluetooth. Ui is good, havnt managed to find many apps to connect my phone to the tv but it’s still awesome. Buy it on sale not full price.
Bit of a faff to set up and get all the apps in the order i wanted. This is the first 4k and smart tv ive had and boy am i glad i got it. Picture quality is so much better than the old tv and so is the sound. The only flaw is too many buttons on the remote.
A great tv for a relatively small price. Picture quality is very good. I use soundbar so cant really comment on the internal speaker. I used to have series 6 which was the predecessor of this one. Was worried about some comments mentioning bloatware but it’s ok. There are some apps pre-installed but you can either uninstall them or just move them to the back of the list so that you won’t notice them. Sadly it was delivered late even with amazon prime. Dpd which amazon seem to be using quite often is very unreliable.
I’m extremely pleased with the sounds quality, design and picture quality of this product amongst other things. As for the design, it’s sleek and modern ideal for any room. I like the clever cable hiding inlay into the body of the tv. Excellent price for a 49 inch high quality television. It says 4k ultra hd and they’re not kidding. The only thing i can mark down is the remote control, too many buttons seem redundant and it takes a long time to figure out they’re use. Lastly, the sound settings i love, watch a movie and switch on amplify and it sounds like you have speaks all around you . Also well packaged extremely low chance of damage in transit.
Smart tv simple to setup and use. If you want to do something simply select it from the menu and that’s it. No hassle trying to get things done. Great picture quality and sound. Not much bass ( as i’ve read people mentioning it ), but well, it’s only a tv not a subwooferi’ve only installed it yesterday but so far so good.
I also bought a wireless sound bar from the same manufacturer. But the tv does not have bluetooth so it wasn’t wireless the only audio output from the tv is digital no analogue headphone socket and the digital output is not affected by the volume control so you require yet another remote just for the sound which is not always in synch with the tv speakers although there is an adjustment on the soundbar it didn’t always synch. The tv is 4k but the upscaling for standard resolution transmissions (ie sky news etc) is really awful it looked far better on my old 42′ hd tv from the same manufacturer.
Saw a number of complaints about adverts (annoying) and picture quality (soap opera) so to note:- when you first turn on the tv, there are a number of click to agree statements about gathering data, serving ads and personalisation. You do not have to agree to any of these. If you skip them, you will *not* have ads. It’s made to look like they’re essential to agree to, but they’re not- the picture by default will turn films into an unreal, cheap looking tv set. Turn off all picture processing and motion processing and you’ve something that resembles the cinema (and i’ve not noticed any blurring or negatives to this at all). – the sound passes through true 5. 1 surround, and made me realise that previous samsungs – mine was 12 years old – had only been pretending to do so.
I bought the 65” tv for a bedroom, incredibly cheap for the quality. Used only for netflix but during setup had the same issue with others regarding adverts, it consistently pushes paid for content via a rakuten app, which can’t be removed. However, in settings, you can set it to automatically start and open the last previously used app. As this is exclusively used for netflix, this means we bypass all the ads. Setup was incredible easy, took all of two minutes to enter wifi details, netflix was already setup, just had to login and done. Bbc iplayer have an uhd trial program loop in their beta app settings. Watch a couple of these to really see how amazing the quality of this tv is. I have mine wall mounted, the tv does not come with the bolts required and my tv mount did not come with the bolts for this tv. M8 43-45mm are needed and it’s vesa 200. Otherwise, it was simple to install.
When i moved appartments i wanted a new tv. I’m a big gamer so i wanted something that is compatible to the ps4 pro and this was the perfect fit. Great quality, sound and design.
I bought this as an introductory leap into the uhd/4k market and for something to match with my ps4 pro. This is fantastic, it defiantly gives you a massive wow factor when you first load up something that can exhibit the detail of the 4k ability. It isn’t loaded up with the massive amounts of smart features that you’ll get with one of these tvs that cost four figures or above, but it does enough for me, keeping it’s self easy to use and quick. There is things going around about the built in ads are not noticeable and during the initial setup you have to consent to certain aspects by ticking a box. Also the interface that you can bring in using smartthings is great if it’s something that you are interested in. Overall i would highly recommend this to someone if they are looking for a budget 4k tv.
There was a time when buying a 7 series samsung tv was considered to be buying one of the best on the market. Oh dear, how times have changed. Whilst it’s not a dreadful tv, it’s not exactly quality either. It’s kinda ‘meh’ across the board. The feet are utter crap and there’s zero adjustment in them unlike a centre stand on my old 40′ that could swivel (that was just a series 6). Picture quality is mediocre, hdr seems non existent or is so poor that you can’t actually tell if it’s working or not and the number of tweaking options in the settings is a tenth of my other. Seems the 7 series is now the low end budget range. And i feel like i paid too much even though i got my 49′ for less than £400.
The picture is outstanding, as to be expected of a 7 series samsung tv. Sound is a little flat but who expects much of inbuilt speakers these days anyway?if that single objection is enough to sway you away from this tv then you don’t deserve the rich visual experiences this screen delivers. The novel cable routing solution kept the wall mount install clean, but the tv frame feels a little flimsy on the vesa mount, despite being a solid quality mount, but again, i’d rather my money goes into the screen technology than a fancy aluminium frame.
Pretty good tv, light weight, easy enough to connect to the internet. Not a big fan of the ui, not hard to use, just the previews are annoyingly loud and i can’t see how to stop them from running. It would be nice to change more of the screens parameters instead of flicking through presets. The apps aren’t great, the netflix one is ok, the youtube one hasn’t quite got the functionality of the phone/desktop versions (not a big deal as you can cast to it from your phone), and i was really disappointed with the ted app as i love those videos. It isn’t compatable with samsung’s ‘smart’ apps, i think the one mentioned in the manual is no longer available – the current one doesn’t work anyhow.
Easy to physically set up, but like all smart tvs a little time and patience is required to set up the apps such as bbci player (name, wifi passsword, date of birth, etc are required for each of the ‘play again’ sites, and all information has to be entered via an on screen keyboard which is messy). I do not think that the remote is user friendly and in my opinion is not well set out. I may get used to it in time, but accidentally press the wrong button or key and you may have to start all over again. (i have been used to a sony remote which is user friendly and well laid out).
Not had a chance to really test thoroughly but seems to be a really great tv with fantastic picture quality. However, there is no headphone jack which is absolutely ridiculous. Completely stupid not to include one, no care at all from samsung for those who are hard of hearing. Personally means i can’t play sound through my amplifier which i have always done as tv speakers tend to be rubbish. Now i’m going to have to fork out another up to 50 quid to get an adapter from optical audio to analog. Left a bitter taste and gives the impression that samsung doesn’t really care about the hard of hearing or those who enjoy using their own speakers.
I have upgraded from a jvc 32inch to this. The experience is breathtaking. Idiot proof set up instructions. I didn’t realise it was so big but it’s a whole new experience. Picture, sound, everything about it is superb. When you watch a movie it feels like you are in it and part of it. Added my sound bar to it (recommended) and it just blows you away.
Simple to set up and a fabulous result in pic quality and sound.
First and foremost, the inclusion of ads on the home screen (which cannot be disabled) is a very disappointing and exploitative behaviour on the part of samsung. It is disappointing because the rest of the product is quite good for the price. I was probably quite lucky to find picture quality (i. , colours, saturations and contrast) was all very good out of the box and did not require any tuning at all- most of the time i keep it in ‘standard’ picture mode. The sound is decent for tv speakers, they get pretty loud but the sound stage is a little small for my preference. Fortunately they have optical out, so pairing the tv with a couple of bookshelf speakers and a budget-friendly dac, and you’re all set.
I have just had to send an lg television back as it broke after a week and it cost me £1800. I went for this 65 inch television which was a fantastic price at around £800. The reviews are hit and miss on this television so let me try and give you an honest review. The box and packaging are excellent so there is no chance it can be damaged in transit. It’s very easy to setup out of the box, the feet go on very easily with the 4 screws that are provided. I actually find the picture quality much better than the £1800 television i had previously which is amazing considering this set is half the price. I see lots of people refering to samsung adverts that pop up which are annoying but i haven’t had a single one so maybe this has been fixed with an uodate. If you want a very well made television at a great price then this television ticks all boxes.
The operating of this television is fine once you’ve removed all of the bundled software and turned off the startup sequence. Samsung is famous for installing all kinds of rubbish on the base install, but with a bit of work you can make this television perfectly adequate. Picture is fine for most scenarios, turn off the motion enhance and all of the other things that ruin films and you’ll be very happy. Sound is better than the usual flat screen audio, but you really should buy a sound bar for a much better experience. I’d buy another one, don’t let my tech-twaddle put you off, for this price you’d be a mug not to buy one.
Don’t want to damn this with faint praise as it i a step-up from my previous samsung television in terms of picture quality/sharpness/focus. It was very easy to install and looks great in the room but there are a couple of ‘niggles’. As i think a previous reviewer has mentioned, the viewing position for optimum quality needs to be pretty much end on, the more you move to the side, the less-sharp the picture becomes. The sound from the tv is fine but i have a samsung soundbar from my previous television which i cannot get to connect to the new television which is a real disappointment as i use it when watching movies, particularly. If anybody knows how this might be connected. . ?apart from that, for the price, very good value.
This is replacing a 32” akura 1080p hd tv mainly because i wanted a tv with hdmi arc. I have the 40” version of this product and it is excellent for picture quality and even the internal speakers are decent and good enough to use on their own without having to use an external speaker. After calibrating the picture (i like to get the best i can out of a tv and follow calibration advice on the web – i go for a natural look and as close to ‘real life’ as possible rather than the zing of dynamic) it is even better with very natural colours and outstanding clarity and definition. It also supports dolby digital and digital plus and allows you to send either to a compatible soundbar or audio receiver in either bitstream of lpcm modes. My main gripe is with the wifi which only supports 2. 4ghz (for a 2018 tv i would expect dual frequency and include 5ghz) and i live in an area with about 10 – 12 other 2. 4ghz wifi signals all bouncing around and overlapping – fine for normal web browsing but not so good for video streaming. The smart hub feature is pretty much useless to me as there is just too much buffering when watching either the iplayer or amazon prime videos. Luckily i have a fire stick which i prefer to use for streaming. I have removed all the apps from being shown in the smart hub and made sure the it doesn’t keep popping up every time i turn the tv on.
This is a great tv from a great seller, the smart features are amazing and really easy to use, the picture is crisp and clear even improving old dvd’s a massive amount. The usual samsung quality you would expect.
