Shure SE215-K-UNI-EFS Sound Isolating Earphones : Good sound

These noise cancelling headphones started out really well, they were comfy , cancelled unwanted noise out on my commute to work and i really enjoyed the enhanced bass on some of my music, less so on spoken word. Unfortunately the main problem i had was that the left ear stopped working after a month, i think i was just unlucky and got a duff pair, and i hope it’s not a known fault.

Perfect sound, fantastic sound isolation.

Great product and i use it with my se535 so sounds great.

This review is for the wired 215 set. I thought the reproduction for the fifties jazz i listen to excellent and unlike some other reviews i’m not too aware of a thundering bass, despite the box saying: clear sound + deep bass. As i write this i’m listening to jimmy smith’s twenty minute track ‘the sermon’ which sounds very impressive. Another thing i like is the isolating aspect, i think shure must have worked on this because it’s very effective. Overall i like the sound but i did find a slight annoying problem. The cables go up and behind the ear and i’ve spent some unnecessary time putting them in position, it’s just very fiddly, i would much prefer to use conventional earphones that hang down from the ears.

Like a few others, i have just struggled to get these fitted with the correct bud for my ear. I appreciate that everyone is different and it is good that a company supplies so many different types of bud so you can get the perfect fit. Sound quality – good, but not quite right. The sound is just strange, not sure whether it is because it’s all i can hear – the outside noise is minimal. The bass is quite a bit too light for my liking as well, not that i want ear splitting bone shaking bass and sound, but could do with a bit more oomph. I have tried these on a few different devices too just in case there was something wrong with my mp3 player or phone, but i’m still not too happy with them. They aren’t a patch on bose in my opinion.

I got these shure earphones for my teenage daughter who has a set firmly placed in her ears at any opportunity she gets, much to my annoyance when i’m trying to talk to herwhen she unpacked these and tried them for the first time she was absolutely blown away by the qualityso much so she called me at work to describe every little detailin fairness she doesn’t have a lot to compare them to, the best pair she has probably had before would be the standard apple earphones but none the less these were a huge hit with her. She said they were so comfortable in her ears and the noise cancellation was amazing (in other words, blocked out my dulcet tones nicely)protecting her ears is, of course, paramount and with these earphones you don’t need them very loud to get a good sound.

The sound quality of the headphones are great for the price range. However, there are three drawbacks i have found from living with these. Firstly, there are constant background noise when they’re turned on. Even though it is nearly non-noticable, it can be disturbing in very quiet environment. Secondly, the minimum volume level is considered high, compare to the wired cable ones and other headphones i currently own (bose, apple, sennheiser, denon, etc. Thirdly, the recording quality from its microphone is among the worst i’ve ever used (i only buy quality pairs). You can just understand what you talk over the mic, but don’t expect high-fidelity records. Overall these are good pairs of wireless iems. Only their sound quality and authentic iems design worth most of its cost.

Upgrading to these iems from some £30 headphones was more of an upgrade than i initially expected. When first using them i thought that the mids and highs sounded amazing but was lacking in bass. I later found out that a good seal was needed to have all the base, so i advise that you try all the provided tips before anything else. After finding the right tips, i noticed that these have amazing and deep bass with everything still being clear. Only problem i’ve ever had is about a 1 second cut out that seems to happen once every 2-3 hours. It’s not at all a huge problem but i think it’s due to the bluetooth playing up. Overall, they are a great product and definitely worth a try.

Best headphones i’ve ever had. I’ve over 10 pairs ranging from seinheisser to bose through to grado. My everlasting search for the right pair has come to an end.

The first thing inoticed was how sturdy these headphones are. There is a nice thick cable which shouldhelp against the inner wire breaking. I did not find them particularly comfortable to wear. The unit containing the bud (ie the bit which goes in the ear) tends to swivel, which may help flexibility but i found it difficult to get a comfortable fit. Once in place, the noise reduction was on a par with other passive noise reducing headphones i have tried and without the irritating hiss you get with active noise cancellation. I listen to audiobooks onpublic transport and these are fine for that purpose. Sound quality is good and clear but only as good as headphones i have used that are half the price of these. There is a good selection of buds in two different types (spongy and rubbery) and various sizes of each. A nice touch is the carrying case that is supplied.

I’m not an expert when it comes to earphones. I like these but think the bluetooth aspect could have been better, especially for the price. But they fit really well inside my ear which is always my main concern and don’t fall out when i’m running. Maybe a little on the pricey side to what i usually pay, but i got them for free so can’t complain.

I like these earphones, i also have the beats x. The isolation is great, but they do tend to get a bit incomfortable in long sessions and the better life is 6 hours max. I would go for a higher model if budget allows but would love it if shure could enhance the battery.

Only supports sbc rather than the much higher quality apt-x (pretty sure description claimed apt-x at the time i bought these). Battery like is good, get a good 6 hours out of these. Unfortunately, changed over to a new phone (huawei p20) and the blue tooth connection is now very jumpy, and constantly skipping. Using these buds with a cable on the other hand is perfect, and great headphones, avoid the bt version and just buy the wired.

If you use iem’s regularly and want something on the cheap end this will do you brilliantly. But if you’re looking for some casual earphones for your phone and easy going listening these might not be for you. For example it is kind of a ‘chore’ to put these earphones on whereas something which isn’t an iem is just easier to put in and pull out etc. But if you already know what you’re going to be using these for then these will be brilliant. I spent a week with these earphones as casual earphones and after a while you get used to the ‘unzip the bag, unravel the cable, wrap the earphones around your ears and screw into ear’ and then listen. But saying that if you buy iem’s expecting the world from them you won’t be too moved but also saying that nothing will provide that either. So basically if you want some in ear monitors for both professional and personal use, these will serve you very well. You can be shure about thatpros:great sound quality for pricesturdy build and packaging/traveling caserepitual brand for qualitycons:a bit of chore to put on / use casually.
