Keeps the beer really nice and chilled, hits the back of throat, great.
Brilliant machine, sits on the kitchen unit perfectly. I ordered my beer from the sub direct due to them having all the choice. Just a note for other customers, the tube comes with the torp not the machine so don’t worry if you don’t see one in the box. Also if you have put the torps in the fridge to cool, when you pop one into the machine and connect up. You need to allow upto 16 hours to allow the machine to pressurise and get the torp to the correct temperature. Thankfully it only took 1hr 20minutes for the light to go from red to green. But don’t think you can just pop one in and you’re good to go, you’re not and will just pour froth. So allows as much time as possible for the machine to pressurise, so you and your guests (maybe) won’t be waiting hours for a beer.
Perfect pint and looks great in the kitchen.
Please note this will will come in the branded box. Just ordered for my partner for christmas and surprise ruined as it turned up in the original box and had not been put into a plain box. Make sure you select that this is a gift if you are ordering as a present.
This is ace, bought it for my boyfriend for christmas, it get a lot of use. Looks really good on the kitchen side too. Shame amazon don’t sell the torps. Comes with the cool little rubber mat too.
Price per pint is much cheaper than pub prices and there are always offers on the many different beers available. I bought this on offer at £69. It really is worth waiting for offers on the machine as they do come about pretty often. Beer is kept chilled at the perfect temperature and pours just like the perfect draught from your local. Very simple to use and change torps. There are a great variety of torps available from the manufacturers website and they usually have offers on different beers. I tend to buy in bulk when the offers are available. I do think though that this would take off far quicker if the torps were available at local supermarkets, but saying that delivery is usually very quick. Yes, bottles and cans are cheaper from your local supermarkets but they can’t compare to the fresh taste from this machine.
Bought when it first came out. The website seems easy and next day delivery is good. Range has increased since beginning but would like to see more still please. The beer stays ice cold ( 2deg ) and fresh for weeks. There’s some bladder inside the bottle that squeezes the beer out, like drinking but never opening a bottle.
Been using this product for 6 months now, it’s been on constantly with no problems. Make sure you cool the torps in the fridge before use as it will make a loud noise for some time when it trys to cool a warm one. And try to turn the unit on at least 24 hours before you use with a torp.
Stylish, goes in the kitchen perfectly. My husband has learnt to perfect his pints now. Also the kegs as top up presents throughout the year are fab too – lots of variety on offer.
My husbands favourite present. Pity the subs weren’t easily available.
Quality product, works out roughly £2.
As described and well received as a gift.
Christmas gift for the man cave. It’s great, he loves it and beer is nice and cold.
Quality product, can not beat a perfect hand pulled beer in the comfort of your home.
. Very easy to set up, install the torps start pouring the draught beer. I would recommend that you keep the torps in the fridge for a few hours until cold, then put them in the sub, otherwise it can take up to four hours until ready, also keep the sub on. To minimise foam when you try to pull the perfect pint, put your glass in the fridge for a few hours, then wet the glass with cold water, then fill with beer. The longer you leave the sub on the less foam you get. . As someone who is very fussy when it comes to beer, i was very sceptical that the sub would be any better than the beer you buy in the supermarket. I’ve made lots of home brew, i’ve tried many of the beer casks and beer’s on the market. So is it worth spending money on the sub?.
Just a shame about the-sub customer services. They are appalling excellent product excellent build quality just a shame that the company that send these doesn’t listen to complaints and doesn’t react well. Excellent group on facebook for user where a real community spirit is achieved.
Defintley a great pint out of it and a good selections of beers. Perfect for a relaxed evening to have a cold beer rather than for a party due to how many pints it can hold. Worth the money when you compare to a pint at a pub.
Initially worried about only having 2 litres in a torp, but really, it’s not a problem, as it only takes about 5 seconds to change them, and there’s no pipes to clean or anything (the pipe comes in the lid of the torp, and has the nozzle on the end, so there’s nothing to clean). It is important to allow enough room in your fridge for spare torps. When you first switch the machine on there is a quite noise as it chills. Once at temperature it runs completely silent. When you pull a pint it sounds like your first car with a knackered exhaust, which is it’s only downside. The beer is loads better than a can, or even a bottle. It’s really smooth and there is a great selection available. To avoid huge amounts of froth, it’s important to hold the glass right up to nozzle and tilt it at least 45 degrees whilst pouring. All in all, it’s amazing, even if it does sound like a rubbish car when in use.
Reviews from purchasers :
- Looks really good on the kitchen side too
- Cool in fridge before use.
- Great stylish present
It is a hassle free, home tap. The magic happens in one easy to install tank so no messing around with gas and pipes. And it tastes, pours, feels like a genuine draught beer with a decent selection on offer. Not cheap but overall, cheaper than a pub and sooo much nicer than a can or bottle. However you will fart more than a diet of brussel sprouts. I mean real seconds long, buttock wobblers. I think its their magic yeast. If you were missing out on farting the second half of the alphabet in your youth, this is the beer for you.
Great idea, but the dispensing is not great seems to froth too much.
The best thing since sliced bread :pthis for me has got to be one of my best purchases of the last few years. I don’t tend to go out alot these days with having kids etc so decided to try and bring the pub to my kitchen – sound familiarwell when this arrived it changed the whole prospect of home drinking for me – it delivers a perfect glass every time at a perfect temperature. The ordering of the torps is online only but if you buy bundles at a time then there is no problem. I’m currently working my way through the desperados and let me tell you. If you buy one of these you must buy the desperados it is out of this world on draught.

Its a great idea, but the torps are not big enough, you get about 4 pints out of each, the first 1 or 2 always ends up really frothy no matter what you do, and then you get 1 or 2 really decent drinks, then it starts to get frothy again near the end, you have to pull the handle pretty quick to avoid getting froth, but it seems impossible to avoid it when you first start using a torpit does really cool it well, and you do get a nice pint eventually, it would of probably been better if the torps where at least 3 litres +used mine when i got it at christmas, but its been gathering dust since, shame as its a great idea, and looks real nice also, wish i could figure out some way to re-fill the torps with some other beer homebrew maybe.
Serves great beer, although not true draught standard. It produces an unruly amount of head with every pour, causing a drink to take at least two minutes to make while the foam dies down. It sounds like a nespresso machine while pouring — a very loud motor sound. The tap mechanism is poor; it can get stuck quite easily after extended use, leading to not being able to turn the tap off (probably from sticky beer residue). The refrigeration chamber is quite quiet, just a low fan, so could easily be kept on for long periods, which is great. The 2 litre capacity is insufficient, it equates to approx three pints after wastage, which in most occasions is not enough — certainly not for any kind of social occasion. Having said that, changing the torp is easy and fast. The torp refills are above supermarket price per litre of beer. 50 for a heineken torp, whereas the same volume of heinken in the form of a canned six-pack is approx £5.
Was sceptical before buying but am very pleased with it. Chilled draught beer on tap in your kitchen, what’s not to like?i would highly recommend chilling the torps in the fridge over night before loading them into the sub and putting them straight into the sub warm will take a long time to chill in order to draught.
It was between this and the phillips perfect draft. Opted for this as a cheaper option. It’s good because it only holds 2 litres at a time, so it’s easy to rotate different beers. Also the torps fit in the fridge easily to pre-chill. Also if you try a beer and you don’t like it you’re not stuck with 6 litres of the stuff.
I just bought this direct from the sub website. I purchased it on the black friday deal and got it with 2 free heinekein torps. I purchased 3 additional torps on the website as well as. Decent value for money for what you are getting. Putting it together is pretty straight forward. Had a torp of wieckse witte i purchased from the site in the fridge for a day before slotting into the sub. Took less than an hour for the sub indicator to go green indicating that it is ready. Got a lot of head from the first glass, well probably didn’t do it correctly as i was using it for the first time.
Bought as a christmas gift for my brother who loves this. He bought the beer subs separately so an additional cost that needs to be considered. It looks big but positioned in the right space and it’s less bulky than you might think.
I bought this for my husband for christmas last year, he loves it, but so far can only by the subs for it on line?.
Love this its great whem you have mates round.
